December 17, 20186 yr Which would you say is the most exciting game that you're looking forward to seeing?
December 17, 20186 yr You'll have fun in the Europa League next season at least! Think it's wrong to say an English team doesn't have a chance, think this year is wide open. Personally from my perspective I think it's wide open this year, nobody really sticks out and all the bigger teams have their weak spots which can be exploited. Well we all know what happened last time we were in the Europa League so it might not be so terrible after all. We'll be able to sit back with our popcorn and watch others inevitably crash and burn in next season's Champions League.

I'd rather be playing Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and PSG than Rosenborg, Celtic and FC Zurich  Never know, might not even qualify for Europe next season. If that happens I will await the inevitable title challenge obviously..
December 17, 20186 yr Dortmund are on fire right now, no way Spurs beat them. City getting another laughable draw because oil money talks United are so completely f***ed which should help ensure Jose is gone by year end
December 17, 20186 yr Author Tough draw for us against PSG, I doubt we'll go through but no English team is winning the Champions League this season so we might as well go out now instead of spending the whole season deluding ourselves and then losing 3-1 in the final. ah the hate is strong in this one. I actually don't think it's inconceivable that any team in the last 16 apart from Schalke perhaps could get to the final. The champions league is more random these days despite Madrid being so dominant over the last 5 years!
December 27, 20186 yr That'll explain why there never seems to be any hype for it on the TV nowadays! Shame because I'd probably watch if it were on Freeview.
December 27, 20186 yr I want the champions league back on ITV again. It was good back then. I miss it on ITV as well. Now that BT Sport has full control of the coverage I feel more detached from the Champions League than I ever have done before. I can only watch 1 match per day now which is usually Man United's and don't really see anything else from the competition as ITV don't even have their highlights show anymore.
December 27, 20186 yr Unfortunately I don't think Champions.League will be on free-to-air again. There might be. The viewing figures in general are down for the Champions League and when BT's contract comes up, it's going to be super expensive. I read an article a year ago that UEFA wanted some games to be on free-to-air TV, so there might be a chance some games come back. Whether the BBC (highly unlikely) or ITV (more likely) want to make a bid is another question altogether.
December 28, 20186 yr Author It's a bit like the 80s again for me when you barely ever saw the games!! Hope itv get at least one game each match day again. I pay for sky football as I personally would rather watch the premiership and football league - just my personal preference. Sky seems to have gone back to basics with regards to footy with only the MLS live apart from the Scottish and English leagues which makes sense to me, whether it's those for their viewing figures we will have to wait!!
December 28, 20186 yr Can't see the BBC making a bid would like an similar bid where Sky get it with ITV showing one game per match day.
December 28, 20186 yr Author Symbolises perfectly how capitalism leads to monopolies which is against the interests of the average person!

Sky have gone all in for the Premier League coverage. I mean if they lose their stronghold on that coverage then that's basically the end of Sky Sports imo. I'll be interested to see how the streaming package goes down on Amazon. I suspect within the next 10 years it's likely to begin to move to a streaming platform, be it with a technology giant or with Sky/BT.
December 29, 20186 yr I don't think a post by a spammer has created this much discussion in ages!
December 29, 20186 yr Safe to say this post on the other hand, won't^ lmao  That person is about 4 months too late
December 29, 20186 yr Maybe if I say the word 'spammer' then one magically appears? (It was a post copying the group stage groups for anyone who didn't see, looks like Mack's deleted it)
