Feels so bizarre that we're only getting the album now, two years after she had a bit of flash-in-the-pan success.

It’s the classic story of artist has surprise success, label try to spin that into massive mainstream success, fail, and then the artist is stuck in limbo.

This really should be her third album by now but labels never learn.

She uploaded the album trailer on her YouTube channel. The album will be available for pre-order this Friday.

Sun in our Eyes grew on me despite that horrible video where she looks like Ellen DeGeneres. Yes its pop but its not as generic and desperate pop as the likes of Final Song. (Which I didn't dislike but still was exasperated by as a cash-in attempt)

Really hard to say what the album will sound like though. Hopefully some experimentation like Lykke Li and ToveLo's recent efforts, even if it is alongside some safer ones.

So in love with the artwork and ‘Way Down’.

And so here for the Charli and Empress Of tracks, can’t wait for this.

'Way Down' is her best attempt at blending her sound from the debut with her more recent (Diplo, Lean On etc) music

a bop

I just did a google search and it seems Way Down was available in some form since May :o

The chorus flute (?) parts are absolutely incredible.

Really loving Way Down! It's got some flavour behind that some of her recent singles have been lacking, a proper bop. Also major love to the flute

“Imaginary Friend” is amazing - shame nothing from this era looks set to deliver her another UK chart hit. Also, lucky Japan; they get “Kamikaze”, “Final Song” and “Nights With You” as digital bonus tracks.

This is such a solid pop album. I was really worried she'd struggle to put something cohesive together post-Lean On and with the label mess, but all of this sounds effortless.
