Europa was number one in Spain for six weeks

Must have been YEAARS ago

It is now a joke song

Please don't. It was one of the worst things ever sent to BJSc, but people here are removed from Spanish culture/ music so no surprise they vote for the worst ones
Clearly wasn't one of the worst things to the people who gave it 245 points.... It was much better than the identikit Latin shite you've sent in the past, just because something is the basic bare minimum to be a Latin America/Spanish hit doesn't mean it is going to do well in BJSC.
I adore it more than my own entry, and many previous ones

Oh would you just pack it the f*** in Michael? You’re talking out of your arse. You’ve been on this tear since Sofia won as if you’re the arbitrator of Spanish culture. Couldn’t be further from the truth. Your IP address is Virgin Media in London hun. You don’t know what the f*** is happening in Spain and what’s current and what music is on heavy rotation any more than the rest of us. You’re not special sweetie.

Either pack it in or if the contest is causing this much strife then stop entering.

FULLY CAUGHT UP, I'll accept top 15 as I had no idea what to expect. All so close though, crazy that 18pts seperate me from finishing 15th to finishing 6th! Great winner in Cor Lupus, great hosting, bring on next contest now I have the buzz back!

was gonna switch up my sound from last month but ive found something thats made me think... nahhh

its either that or some power pop / witchy house/trance hybrid

I've found something from Finland that has an incredibly infectious chorus.
Definitely your 100th, you debuted in BJSC 9 and haven't missed any contests since then!

Just checking who's next to hit one of the milestones, Tartford's current entry is their 49th so they'll have their milestone next contest and Bøtanikkä's 100th will be in BJSC 110 (as they pointed out in their national thread ofc) but then there aren't any more for a good few months after that.

Does that mean rules can be a tad more relaxed for 50th/100th contests? Actually thought I passed 50 some time ago

You have to apply to the mods but yes, you're allowed to (within some level of reason) skirt by the normal veto framework for your 50th entry!

Soo because I am in the UK NOW that means my cultural connections, friends, family, etc, just automatically vanish??

Biggest news story in Spain right now is a continuation of the Cifuentes fake degrees scandal, with more politicians being rumbled with 'exaggerated titles'.

Musically there wasn't one big stand out Latin song of the summer like most years.

I pop into a Spanish station now and again. I have my ear to their culture FAAAR more than you or anyone else, baring the um handful of Spaniards here obviously, on this site. How do you think I knew about No Quiero Na, or how the Spanish media wanted them (yes, they are a band) to be seen as the Spanish pussycat dolls? Yah.

When was the last time you set foot in a Latin country? Me? Just a few months ago. Oop.

And by the way, an ip address in London is about as Spanish as you can get rn, or Ireland, due to the maany maany trips they make to learn English/ moving here to learn English. You'd know that if you knee the culture.

Btw Juanes and La Gozadera are CURRENT and popular. Gozadera was MAMMOTH, 'el temazo del verano' as everyone called it when it was released. Clubs, house parties, are LIT when that comes on. Never heard Europa played.

Thanks Bre  i probably will still go with my original choice for the next contest but....don't know. Gonna have to think about this
