Kylie is #3 in the mids with 5,415, she's projected to climb back to #2 though.

That’s great....shame sales are so low for everyone but that should mean she’ll be around 10k for week two, fingers crossed.

Great result :cheer: Should easily clear 10k+? Coming to snatch that silver award in a few weeks.

That is a positive start for Kylie for week 2 and as good as a result as we could expect.

I am assuming Ed Sheeran is Number 1 and Lewis Capaldi Number 2.

Ed Sheeran isn’t out yet.

I don’t disagree with what the award SHOULD be for however Brits is a brand geared towards TV viewing figures, media coverage etc., and Pink would be a lot more desirable to them wether that’s the correct decision or not against someone like Alison Moyet and others mentioned. I think now Kylie has had another rise to the top they might be more inclined to award her.

I don't totally agree to be honest. I do agree that Pink would pull in viewing figures / media footage (as she did), however not necessarily more so than Kylie or Madonna as seen by the huge viewing figures Kylie got at Glastonbury (highest ever) and the huge deal that was made of Madonna performing at the Brits the previous year (and that's not including the coverage after she was pulled off the stage  poor thing).

I'm really not disputing Pink winning btw, I think she is amazing, I'm just a little surprised she was there before many others.

Lighthouse had good promo over weekend but should be front loaded. Kylie may catch them up but streaming of the others below her may be close top 5 today

I think Kylie will overtake the Lighthouse Family but as i posted in the chart forum.

It is just great to see the Lighthouse Family do so well after such a long time away.

So pleased with how this is holding up - she still has 3 versions on the main Amazon chart (4,17 & 19) plus #4 on iTunes (#2 taking out compilations) :cheer:
Week 2 is starting strong and ideally the album will have at least 2 -3 more weeks in the Top 10.

#4 & #5 are quite far behind

1 Lewis Capaldi - Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent (7.4k)

2 Lighthouse Family - Blue Sky In Your Head * (6.3k)

3 Kylie Minogue - Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection (5.4k)

4 The Killers - Direct Hits (3.4k)

5 Billie Eilish - When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (3.2k)

Kylie has the edge over The Killers & Billie Eilish due to her stronger physicals & downloads. Kylie also sold twice as much as Lighthouse Family on Sunday so she's looking safe to overtake them by Friday. She also sold more yesterday than Killers & Billie.

Now it has been opened up to international acts who have contributed to the British charts there is a whole host of people who deserve it! Coldplay will definitely get one at some point they are a British act who have been huge!

U2 won it in 2001 and they're not British, so Pink wasn't the first!

Kylie has a good chance of number 2.

I’m really pleased with week 2 - sales are low but they are low for everyone, if she can manage 10-11k this week she’ll have sold circa 43k copies, amazing for a GH in 2019 tbh.

Adam Clayton, Dick Evans and David Howell Evans are English (the Evans brothers are also born of Welsh parents)... it’s like Fleetwood Mac winning as most of their members are English.

Very happy with this, I expected lower top 10, I never would have thought top 3, never mind it being number 2

English-born, but they’re still Irish! U2 as a band are considered Irish, not UK/Ireland.

If they are English born then they are not Irish, they are English or have dual citizenship. They are considered an Irish band because they originated from Ireland, but 2 of their members are still English hence they are technically a Irish / UK band, certainly far more so than Pink who has no connection to the UK whatsoever.

It can come down to identity. (I know this is off topic for Kylie's thread) but U2 members aren't usually referred to as being British, because they define themselves as being Irish. Even if we go with the "they're considered an Irish band because they originated in Ireland" definition, that just strengthens the argument that U2 are considered as being an international act. Note that their previous Brit nominations/wins are always in the international categories. So it's really a fact that P!nk wasn't the first international act to receive the Outstanding Contribution award! Getting down to the technicalities of where they were born isn't really relevant.
