Yeh Shotgun was very much the sound of the summer this year for me - knew it'd be no1 the moment I heard it on the album back in March!!
Interesting list seeing as we don't have vidcapper's entries anymore! I think the list just reflects how few songs become hits now as there's not really anything I can think of missing that list! Forgot how long The Greatest Showman hits have hung around, especially Rewrite The Stars and The Greatest Show both being top 30 despite their peaks! Hoping One Kiss or Shotgun can overtake at #1 as they feel much more representative of this year of music.

One Kiss could overtake God's Plan by year end, but would need to overhaul 70k sales in 3 months - about 6k a week on average (with streams on 1/100). It's doable but not sure it's a foregone conclusion yet. Can't see Shotgun overtaking either in enough time, but it should finish top 3 at least.

I assume all video streams from July onwards are counted at 1/100, same as audio? That would give a big boost to Girls Like You, etc.

At this stage last year, I think everything which made the year end top 100 had already been released, with the last to chart being Man's Not Hot at the end of Sept which then crept into the YE top 100 at the last minute.

That’s shockingly bad. How is Shape Of You still there?

Streaming has ruined YTD charts tbh.

In fact, the #7, #10, #15, #16, #17, #18, #23, #28, #33, #36, #39 and #40 all made the top 40 in 2017 right? Is this last year's EOY chart?!

Streaming has ruined YTD charts tbh.

It's been in the top 100 all year long and that's despite it being on ACR.

(the YTD chart doesn't take ACR into account, which is why vidcapper can no longer estimate singles YTDs.)

I think this is illustrating how stale the music industry has become tbh, we aren't having the same level of exciting new artists breaking through into the mainstream that we did a few years back. Not only that there just hasn't been many big tunes really. If you were to ask someone who doesn't follow the charts what this years big songs have been I'm sure they'd only name Shotgun and One kiss and perhaps These Days.

Yes streaming with the way it can continuously count towards the chart without any limit doesn't really help but it has been an incredibly dull year for music which doesn't really help either.

Perfect being on 2.3 million units is just mental but I guess thats what releasing 10 versions of the song does

So 'Perfect' is set to make the end of year top 10 for two consecutive years. Can anyone find any previous examples of this?

Last time was Whitney Houston-I Will Always Love You in 1992 and 1993.

My interest in the chart he pretty much vanished now. I’m no longer collecting Now CDs and don’t know what half the top 40 looks like.

That YTD chart doesn’t represent my 2018 at all. But then at 30 years old, my time truly is over.

The only songs I like in the T10 of the year are this is me and Portugal. Can’t believe the amount of crap doing well.
I regularly listen to the charts and follow it with a passion but even I admit this is a poor YTD list. Even I only like about ten of these.
I find it strange there are different abnormalities in terms of the YTD chart compared to the weekly charts. This is confusing and doesn’t make any sense at all. If ACR is used in the weekly sales chart, then why not take it into account with the YTD chart. It’s crazy that shape of you is so high in the YTD listing despite being much lower in chart positions on weekly charts. Just ridiculous.

30? I'm 35 and think totally the opposite about charts, so many great songs around at the moment.
