I would say 'Sweet But Psycho' by Ava Max has a good chance of just about managing to take Christmas #1, it should have built up to its chart potential by then.

Think A Million Dreams by Pink has a shot, no1 on iTunes now and yet to peak on streaming plus it would be fitting as this has been the year of TGS!

I'm predicting Jess Glynne or for some reason, I feel like George Ezra's gonna suddenly contend with 'Hold My Girl' for some reason  I feel like that's just starting to take off.

Ava would be my personal choice though, surprisingly! :o :o

Unless we get a campaign going behind 'Santa Tell Me' - to mark off an incredible year for Ariana and to have an ACTUAL Christmas song at #1.

If Santa Tell Me was released this December out of nowhere it would easily have went to Xmas no1, she was t big enough when it was originally released a few years back!

A shame really cos it’s actually one of the best Christmas songs released this decade!

The bookies seem to have caught on with Ava Max now, she's the new 2nd favourite after Ariana. Jess' odds are still pretty far out though... tempting. I still think it's likely Ariana will hold on but if anyone will overtake her it'll be Jess.

Likelihood is a couple of people have put some big bets on which is why Ava Max has shortend so much. Can't see her being #1 myself, think Jess Glynne is a much better shot as she is surely going to have some big promo lined up.

Whoever gets the Christmas number 1 it will be interesting to see what sales the track gets. Last year 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran had fairly decent sales of 85,397 although historically this is still one of the lowest sales for the Christmas number 1. But in 2016 'Rockabye' by Clean Bandit recorded the lowest sale for a Christmas number 1 since at least 1960 when it sold a paltry 57,361. The days of six figure sales of the Christmas number 1 seem to be over.

It's a decent pop song but for me is t really chrismassy at all!

I’ve got £25 on Ava Max at 20/1 so we shall see. Naturally I’m sure something else will come out of the woodwork over the next few weeks

This. Only her fans like it.

I just think it's a song that could have been released in the summertime as it sounds like a rnb/pop song.

I've put a cheeky bet on Ava as she seems to be gaining momentum at the right time.

The only thing is though that we've no idea who's going to potentially release a single in the next few weeks!

I don't want to totally rule out Dalton from X Factor either. He seems to be potentially the most popular winner in several years, and if by some miracle they get a good song you never know.

Doubt it, I've not heard anything about any of the X Factor acts this year so I can't see a particularly big reach beyond the X Factor audience, which wouldn't be enough to keep a winner's song in competition for Xmas #1, not when, I assume, it'll be after its debut week.

I don't think there would be much of a reach beyond the X Factor audience either, but I'm just saying he will be a popular winner with the audience and that could possibly be enough if #1 sales are as low as they have been last couple years. But it's probably released too early. The 12/1 I saw it at yesterday is probably about right!

Bugger. I never saw it at 20/1, I would have definitely bet on it at that. Hardly seems worth it at 4/1.
I got it at 16/1 yesterday afternoon, and it was down to 10/1 later on so it's moved really quickly over the weekend! It wasn't on there at all on Friday.

Just to stir things up a bit more.

December 16th is Sports Personality Of the Year. Doesn't that get big-ish ratings?

Well George Ezra is a confirmed performer (along with Paloma). I assume he'll be doing 'Shotgun' over 'Hold My Girl' though, but we'll see!
