Bit confused by the multiple Kate Bush entries on the album chart. Looks they are separating the cd and vinyl sales for the same box set

The remastered albums can be available to buy individually or as a boxset.

They aren't going to double their sales from the Monday midweek surely. 60k seems about right.

Of course I'm thinking as if Monday is the first day of sales. Yeah probably not then. How much did Glory Days sell in it's first week or Get Weird?

If I have a vague understanding of how Thursday streams are calculated, where it's extrapolated from the previous data, won't Mariah have a really good shot next year since Christmas will fall on a Wednesday and thus she'll have gradually building streams for the first 6 days of the tracking week, so Boxing Day would be completely mis-represented unless they intervene? Of course knowing the OCC, they'll invent Ultra ACR for songs over 20 years old a week before this gets a chance to happen and continue to not disclose any of their meddling where it can be widely seen.

Don't give them ideas

AFAIK the projection is calculated based on the trend throughout the week. That means that Boxing Day's streams might actually be estimated to be higher than Christmas Day's (assuming streams reach a peak on Christmas Day). Of course, it is possible that they would make an adjustment in certain circumstances such as Christmas.

In opening weeks, Glory Days sold 96,205 and Get Weird 60,053

I'm really not convinced Little Mix are going to outsell Michael Buble in the longrun.

Nah, he’ll drop off after Q4, and without singles promoted here. Whereas Little Mix will probably have released 5/6 singles off their album by this time next year.

Little Mix may get back up to #1 in the new year, Glory Days did that didn’t it?

It did go back to #1 in the new year for 3 weeks but it also debuted at #1 on opening week and spent two weeks at number one then too. .

That's assuming this campaign runs smoothly (which I hope it does).

Where has the greatest showman re imagined placed

There are seven albums in the first CD box, which are split over the two vinyl boxes (presumably to make them more affordable) so I don't think they could be combined.

The other difference is that the vinyl boxes don't have a picture of a naked man with a fish's head in a swivel chair.

Some people are evidently also cherry-picking the remastered Hounds Of Love on its own.

Great top 3 album sales, would live little mix to be number 1 but I like buble and Mumford too.GOod to see kylie still on the chart over 6 months after its release, its her best chart run for a while.
Promo seems more staggered for LM this time around, so I'm thinking it's going to have a strong hold for a while. I definitely wouldn'f rule out a shot at #1 in the new year either (depending no one huge does a surprise release ofc )

I keep reading this staggered promo but I feel it might be something Little Mix fans are telling themselves right now as the album hasn't flown in at number 1 (though it is still doing well). They have released 3 videos, x factor performance, Michael McIntyre performance, hmv signing, radio 1 interview, attitude mag cover etc. Seems pretty much the usual promo, with an extra couple of videos.

No doubt they will do more promo in the coming weeks but then they have always done that too, a second performance on x factor etc. I'm not really seeing any difference to any of the last 2 album releases.

I can't see Westlife getting a Number 1 single again!

It's ok, we already have 7 consecutive and 14 in total :cheer:

The album will be huge too!

LM have a lot of promo lined up in their 3rd week.

Little Mix have nothing to be worried about, they look set to equal or outsell Get Weird and that went on to have big sales.

Little Mix overall will be the biggest selling album from these 3 fighting for Number 1.

This time next year, Little Mix will be miles ahead on sales.

With just a 6k difference in the Top 3 it could go either way.

I wouldn't be so sure, both Buble and Mumford are big album sellers. It's an incredibly tough week for all 3 releasing tbh.

This is the thing though. Q4 is not only the busiest time in the music industry, it's also the most unpredictable, this week being a splendid case in point. It's impossible to tell from one year to another what will be the big ticket. I mean who could have predicted Michael Ball and Alfie Boe doing as well as they did a couple of years ago? Likewise the year Michael Buble's 'Christmas' album came out because if I remember correctly, the week that came out it was actually a two-way tussle for number one to start with between JLS and Snow Patrol. It wasn't until the end of that week it had a surge and overtook them both.

It does make you wonder why there isn't more of a push for releases outside this quarter though from some of the artists who've waited until now to release certainly for long term investment. The only time we've had a huge seller outside of the end of the year in recent years has been Ed Sheeran, but that's because it's Ed.

And the only artist I can think of who's album came out in the first few months of the year and has been a consistent if modest by comparison seller has been George Ezra. Were it not for The Redacted Showman nonsense he'd have the year's biggest album.
