Unless they have a massive duet I can’t see them performing on BBMA especially as they’ve not had much success with Billboard minus their first two albums.

Dave’s album pushed it out of the top 50 then the next day it was moved down on Hot Hits :(

Mmmm I have a feeling that due to this underperformance, that there won't be anymore singles from 'LM5', not that will be a bad thing as firstly the 2 single choices so far for this era have been uninspired, and there just doesn't seem to be any hype for this era at all. Also with the way things are going, I just don't see anything else from this album give them a chart smash.

'TAU', being their first to miss the top 20 has really flatlined this era, maybe I'm wrong, but that's just how it feels. The label's attempt at breaking them in America has fallen way short in SPECTACULAR fashion. Album barely denting the US top 40 and 'WLM' not even making a small dent on the Hot 100, really puts things in perspective and shows that they really made all the wrong choices.

They should have listened to the girls and came to some sort of compromise. 'Strip' would have been a far more interesting choice, but dunno if it would have any better than 'WLM', but definitely made a better follow up than what we got.

Purely based on Sugababes going 3-23 with their singles and Little Mix going 2-22, then I see the comparison, but let’s bring more context into this:

Little Mix achieving #2 and #22 peaks in 2018/19 means far more sales and longevity than Sugababes’ peaks in 2008/09. I think it’s fair to say that Woman Like Me & Think About Us are bigger hits than Girls and No Can Do respectively. Missing the Top 20 in 2009 I’d say is more equivalent to missing the Top 40 nowadays.

LM5 outpeaked & outsold Catfights (#3/198k vs. #8/122k [as of March 2010]). Album sales were a lot stronger in 2008/09 compared to nowadays, so comparatively speaking those Sugababes sales were a complete disaster in that market. They weren’t even in the Top 200 best selling albums of 2008 (meaning it sold less than 83,000 in its 10 weeks of availability in 2008). LM5 was the 25th best seller of 2018 with 167,500 sales in 6 weeks. The 25th best seller of 2008 = 370,000. So LM5’s level of chart success is equivalent to a platinum album 10 years ago.

As previously mentioned, Little Mix are touring arenas in support of LM5. Sugababes didn’t announce a tour for Catfights, suggesting that it wasn’t seen as a viable endeavour.

So overall, I wouldn’t agree that LM5 era is really their own version of the Catfights and Spotlights era. I don’t think Sugababes have a comparable era tbh. Angels/Three/Taller/Change were a lot more successful than LM5, but LM5 is a far more successful era than One Touch/Catfights and obviously Sweet 7. Sugababes albums were essentially either incredibly successful or didn’t do very well at all, whereas I think LM5 is a “fairly successful” middle ground.

I really wonder if the members of Little Mix realize that they have underperformed chartwise this era even though they e been collecting Brit awards and Global awards.
The comparisons between Girls Aloud 10 years ago are uncanny though, GA 2009 just won a Brit released their 21st single Untouchable which was their first sigle to miss the top 10, 2 members just climbed Killamanjaro and Little Mix 10 years later in a similar situation

The label made no attempt with America this era? They have been working with American rappers their entire career, so the features aren't anything new.

This is their biggest flop since Word Up, isn't it?
Yes I think so, but Think About Us is still a quality song and one I keep going back to..Word Up however

94 on Spotify

Oh well; at least it went top 50 for a week. We can blame Dave for the rest.

Dave’s album pushed it out of the top 50 then the next day it was moved down on Hot Hits :(

I've just had a quick look and it seems TAU would've fallen out of the top 50 even if Dave hadn't released his album 😮

TAU deserved at least a top 20 peak, I'm gutted how much it's fallen the past few days :(

There was no effort in the USA this era. No songs were sent to USA radio, and there were no Usa performances. Woman Like Me could have been a decent USA hit, as it was in the top 100 USA Spotify from November thru mid January, but if it wasnt sent for USA radio adds then it had no chance to be a USA hit.
Not me regaining internet access only to find out that this has completely bombed out of the Spotify top 100. That's truly dreadful. I think the fact that it was fully reliant on Hot Hits and its dismal iTunes performance shows that it just wasn't resonating with the public, which is a little worrisome since it's sonically very similar to their GD singles. That said, the Capital snub certainly hasn't helped; I imagine a lot of the GP still aren't even aware of its existence.

I imagine it's more down to the public not being aware that it exists rather than it not resonating tbh. However, I feel like LM could pull off the riskier tracks! They really should've stuck with 'Strip', and followed it up with 'Monster In Me', then 'Wasabi' and potentially 'Forget You Not' after that (if FYN isn't an option due to being deluxe only, then TAU would've served nicely instead).

The release strategy and timing of label move was horrendous and hindered them, there's no arguing that. It's just so frustrating coz this whole era deserved better. It's their best era material wise imo.

It's so frustrating that this has completely collapsed on Spotify.

It's slowly climbing on iTunes again. Up to 39
