Afwul position for Amy Macdonald Greatest Hits.

Peak positions of her four studio albums were : # 1, # 4, # 2, # 2.

Phenomenal sales for Take That, a very safe 9th Number 1.

With promo coming over the weekend, it will help their sales for next week too.

I mean Greatest Hits albums are becoming obsolete in the streaming era...you can just create a playlist.

but fans of "old" acts are more likely to go buy a GH on CD than suddenly learn how Spotify works ;)
Unbelievable for Take That, can't say the same for Rita though.

True, I guess.. I'm not fond of for example Gaga releasing GH at all though. For artist of digital era, it's kinda pointless.

I thought Rita Ora would start the week Top 5 and end it Top 10.

Could end the week at Number 8.

I wonder what TT will drop to for the second week? I imagine it will be quite first-week fronted.

Doubt it. They always sell strongly at this time of year. Selling 90k in 3 days isn’t too much of a surprise to me, and with a performance on XF with Robbie this weekend, and a BBC documentary coming out soon, I think they’ll continue their strong sales over the Xmas period.

Poor from Rita, surprised she’s not #2.

Take That will certainly drop next week. They sold 5k on Sunday, which isn’t a huge amount when you think about the fact they sold 85k between Friday and Saturday. They’re very frontloaded, largely from tour bundles.

I’m surprised people expected Rita to be any higher to be honest! She’s doing about what I expected (although the whole 2 - 10 are on much lower sales than I thought).

I thought it was a mistake when I saw those Take That sales, a rehashed greatest hits that sounds insipid could sell 200k first week? Obviously there is no accounting for taste.
Mariah heading for top 40 in November is a big no-no. Good job she’s on ACR and I hope she misses it on Friday
Good to see Kylie at 51st and could well sell nearly 3k this week, heading towards 130,000 for the year with Golden

They won't come close to 200k. They're projected to sell 112k at this stage.

. Good on them, though. Having said that, what I have heard of 'Odyssey' makes me think some of the songs they've chosen should have been left untouched.

Exactly what I think having heard some on Youtube. They'd have been better doing a straight career spanning Greatest Hits than tinkering with them. Some sound awful.

'Odyssey' is Take That's 8th UK No.1 Album - not their 9th.

It gives them a 30th Week at No.1 on the Album Chart. The same as Madonna has managed with 12 No.1's.

Amy McDonald having a greatest hits makes me feel OLD.
