How likely is Lover staying in the top 10?

17 on Spotify

25 Apple Music

24 on iTunes

Probably end up falling throughout the week unless it climbs. It was #7 on Spotify yesterday.

I've listened to this a fair few times now within the last few days so I've formulated an opinion to rate this.

09 // I Forgot That You Existed

10 // Cruel Summer

08 // Lover

08 // The Man

10 // The Archer

07 // I Think He Knows

09 // Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince

09 // Paper Rings

10 // Cornelia Street

07 // Death by A Thousand Cuts

09 // London Boy

06 // Soon You'll Get Better

08 // False God

10 // You Need To Calm Down

08 // Afterglow

09 // ME!

09 // It's Nice To Have A Friend

09 // Daylight

This is just incredible!! Almost as good as 1989 but better than Reputation which in its own right was a brilliant album as well. She really has slayed the game again.

I feel like London Boy, I Forgot That You Existed and It's Nice To Have A Friend get too much hate, even if they are all a bit cheesy. Personal lowlight for me is Soon You'll Get Better - while it tells a sad story, I feel like it's nice and her voice sounds lovely but it doesn't pack as much power as The Archer and Cornelia Street which do the emotional side perfectly.

Cruel Summer though - I am OBSESSED

The more I listen to this album, the more I just wish it was (randomly) Cher Lloyd's 3rd album. I can def envision her on a fair amount of these tracks!

Really?! What songs if you don’t mind me asking.

I didn’t hear much of a Cher Lloyd vibe. A few songs sound like Avrils Lavignes The Best Damn Thing Era (I Forgot That You Existed, I Think He Knows, Paper Rings). But I’m intrigued to hear what you think sounds like Cher.

Maybe the more spoken/rapped songs?

You Need To Calm Down definitely sounds similar to With Ur Love which I think is the most obvious comparison. I Think He Knows and London Boy could also be Cher Lloyd songs.

Taylor is on SNL October 5th, hosted by Phoebe Waller-Bridge - what a combo *.*

I Think He Knows on REPEAT. So good.

Echoing everyone who’s already said that this feels like a true follow-up to 1989.

The Archer is the only one I liked from the pre-album songs so I wasn’t expecting to like this much but I’m really pleasantly surprised.

I could definitely hear Cher Lloyd recording some kind of version of: Cruel Summer, The Man, I Think He Knows*, Paper Rings*, London Boy*, You Need To Calm Down* & ME!. Specifically the asterixed ones.

They kinda remind me of 'Oath' and there's a song that low-key reminds me of 'Playa Boi' I can't remember which one off the top of my head.

After being pretty much the only album/thing I've listened to for the weekend, a few of the tracks have really grown on me... especially London Boy. Ugh. I Think He Knows is a massive bop too!

I thinks she's hitting +700k pure! BB's final paragraph estimations seem so low (esp when they were expecting 550k pure for the whole week after day 1 sales x)

US updated:

Taylor Swift’s Lover continues to do brisk business, as sales of the album approached 575,000 copies sold in the U.S. through Sunday (Aug. 25), according to initial sales reports to Nielsen Music. The album was released on Friday (Aug. 23), so it’s powered through nearly 575,000 in just three days.

Lover already has the biggest sales week for any album since Swift’s own reputation sold 1.216 million copies in its first week and debuted at No. 1 on the Dec. 2, 2017-dated Billboard 200 chart.

For the full tracking week ending Aug. 29, industry sources now suggest Lover could sell — on the low end of forecasts — around 630,000, and, if the album continues to perform strongly, over 650,000. (That's up from a forecast of 550,000 made on Saturday, Aug. 24.)

It's Nice to Have a Friend is a gem.

Really happy with that! Ik it obvs has streaming sales included that weren't present for 1989/Rep but it's already outdone both of those albums multipliers from first day to full week with three days of sales less to go!!

Hopefully it'll cross 50k for the week which is an amaze result <3

I'm in love with this album so much - Death By a Thousand Cuts & The Man are definitely the ones atm, although I can't be alone in bopping to London Boy surely?
It's Nice To Have A Friend has been the biggest grower for me

Daylights been my biggest grower

And Cornelia Street is really growing too. It’s kinda like Delicate part 2 but I keep getting drawn to it more and more.

YNTCD has actually grown a lot listening to it since the album came out *.*
