Wow! who knew that today would bring a Fleur vs BMTH bitch off... well I say bitch off, but its a one-sided bitch off.

Yay Fleur is doing better than a new release of a completely different type of act to her off the back of a reality tv appearance to 12m and on a platform where sales are so low

to me, thats selling nothing specially when you consider the R1 support they get

but R1 always does the same, if you're a talented artist like Lana del Rey or Lorde, they'll playlist you for 5 minutes then drop you cos you're too old

while idiotic bands making idiotic music like BMTH or The 1975 keep being supported for eternity and beyond, they should apply higher standards or at least use the same standards for everybody

If your a pop star on im a celeb it usually because your career is over. Peter andre aside how many singers have actually had a resurgence due to IACGMOOH!

Matt Willis got a top 20 single out of it :D

But how many have actually tried post leaving the jungle? For instance Kian won and wasn't promoting anything, same with Dougie.

Next number one confirmed then. I'm glad to see Post Malone no longer having the impact of debuting in the top two, his streams are very good but everybody expected 'Sunflower' and 'Wow' to debut at #1 but he's not even been able to break the top three *.*

Post Malone has only ever made the top 3 once and he didn't debut there even with that one xx

(Plus 'Sunflower' might well be #3 this week anyway)

It's not an age issue when Lorde's only 22 and Lana's about the same age as BMTH and only a few years older than The 1975.

It's about the type of music they make and their fanbase. I'm pretty sure they playlisted Green Light anyway. But Lana's audience is older than BMTH or The 1975, the two bands have a large teenage/early 20s fanbase (even Capital caved in and played TooTime), while Lana's audience is older due to the more 'adult contemporary' music that she makes. Which isn't a bad thing anyway, Lana's great.

Also, the two bands are British. And Radio 1 do tend to favour British artists in general, not just those particular bands.

also BMTH and The 1975 are among the more popular bands atm so radio 1 aren't exactly in the wrong for playing them lots

Didn't Kian from Westlife rush out an album weeks after leaving, it was dull covers and he is known as the one who cant sing from Westlife and it went top 10.

Ok you got me but it barely scraped top 20 and only spent 4 weeks on the chart and that was released literally days after he won

Kian was months later and the album hasn’t been certified even silver that’s and was released when album sales were still decentl :lol:
