February 14, 20196 yr Dunno about the song yet, needs time to grow on me, but the music video is absolutely cracking, love the 'Ex Machina' theme, I wonder how this song will do chartwise, whether it will give her a hit, after that disaster that was 'Witness', anyway fingers crossed.
February 15, 20196 yr Straight onto Hot Hits UK but right at the bottom, should hopefully be moved up within a week or so but signs are pointing towards a hit! OH and it's #3 on New Music Friday, although will probably be pushed down to #4 when Cardi/Bruno is released

February 15, 20196 yr Yeah I was disappointed by how low but then I remembered Mabel and Swan Song weren’t added until the Monday/Tuesday after. Hopefully an insta-add from R1 tomorrow? Scott Mills said it’s his track of the day either way.
February 15, 20196 yr Agree with the poster who isn’t sure on song but loves the video. Off the first two listens of the track I felt the same. Stay and The Middle were far more instant tracks as well in my opinion but obviously Katy is far more known than the featured artists on those tracks so this may well take off quicker than those purely based off that as Katy will have more week one buys / streams / views I’d imagine. Plus UK radio will surely play new Katy Perry music even if she’s just the featured track as she’s still one of the main pop females with a large fanbase. It doesn’t scream massive hit but can maybe see it doing about as well as Swish Swish did? Maybe the song will grow on me but it’s not very instant. Edited February 15, 20196 yr by Jordan Lee
February 15, 20196 yr Yeah I'm... really not sold on the song. I was gonna say it's basic but I had no problem with that in terms of The Middle, it's just not grabbing me for whatever reason. I wish the song was as good as the video!

February 15, 20196 yr I thought this was pretty basic and bland on first listen (although not as basic as far as recent Zedd songs usually go) but it's growing on second listen. It is a bit of an earworm and I think it's the sort of thing that will work in Katy's favour whilst she's in between eras. I remember hearing it would be a while till her next album so she definitely needs some mainstream featured hits in the meantime.

I honestly can't see this being anywhere near as big as 'Stay'. I don't think it will have a huge chart run but can see it peaking between #7-14.
February 15, 20196 yr I think this is gonna be a top 5 (maybe top 3), if it is I can see it helping Katy be in a better position to launch her next era. Just glad it's not future bass trash, ultimately. Hopefully he's completely left that behind now. (although I've long accepted we're not getting anything like the old Zedd back).

February 15, 20196 yr Yeah I can see it doing slightly better than NBLAH in US but only because of radio loving Zedd. Looks like it'll be the long game for this though, it's on a lot of Spotify playlists, but quite low, and airplay hasn't been as instant as I expected but I expect it'll get going soon. Praying it debuts top 50 on Spotify tomorrow, but I can see it being just outside.
February 15, 20196 yr Yeah it doesn’t really scream “top 5 songs of the year” like Stay/The Middle did but it’s a little too early to call and releasing earlier in the year could work in their favor. The only problem is that this is going up against Cardi and Bruno rather than The Chainsmokers and Ari.
