Real talk though that was my most robbed song of the year so I'm very pleased that's through!

Stop the presses, Persephonia have a song in the final of a year end contest for the first time in 84 3 years only because there isn't a semi-final to weed it out! My entry from nuevo flamenco quen ROSALÍA, nearly a year before her Sound of 2019 hype and her becoming like the biggest artist ever in her native Spain, came pretty close to qualifying in the original contest (kinda surprisingly as it's not nearly as BuzzJack friendly as the material from her follow-up album) and has made it through here, hooray. Coincidentally it's drawn next to Fljótavík's G Flip, as both of these artists have just already had some justice appearing in the final of BJSC 112 (ROSALÍA as an auto-qualifier but she did pretty well so it was deserved x). Unovia's sole eligible song, a French pop bop from Vitaa from the very start of the year, is also safely through as is Republic of Adonia's Superorganism, another one which would have qualified the first time around if it didn't have a deduction (naturally one of those songs would be Math's :P)

In my excitement at qualifying I just dropped my phone and slightly shattered the top half of the screen oops, I'm not normally this clumsy

Catching up..

yay for Thelonia racism being defeated again, The Wave deserved a Q!

great to see Cowtermont in with GFOTY too!

Niceland make it in with their German rock duet of Sotiria and Unheilig from the end of the year (the official upload of the video still being blocked in the UK, boo xx), while the first entry from Mulgracia's return for the latter half of 2018, July Jones' cover of 'I Fall Apart' by Post Malone, also makes it in. Shame Mulgracia seem to have disappeared into the ether again right after finally getting another qualifier (and top 10 at that) in BJSC 110. We haven't had any BJSC 107 songs until now but that changes as two tracks from that contest close this section, an electronic offering from Lapalux (under the LPLX alias) representing Cumulonimbia and another nation that has been absent in 2019 so far, Desbuanda make it through with Tash Sultana's 'Mystik'. I tend to find that Desbuanda's entries either qualify when I expect them to be out or DNQ when I expect them to be through and this was no exception.

29 United States of Jack 103 //

30 Wholune 109 //

31 Skall 109 //

32 Terra Avium 103 //

United States of Jack made a surprise appearance in BJSC 103 after an earlier comeback for the milestone 100th edition, it is still to date their last appearance and it fell just short of the final then but the spirit of USoJ lives on as Liv Dawson qualifies here. The rest of this lot are doubling up after already making it through with a track earlier on: Wholune go 2 for 2 with their debut pair of DNQs both qualifying for the Rejects final as Jerry Williams joins Deco, while from the same contest Skall's UK hip-hop track from God Colony and Flohio (another Sound of 2019 artist) also makes it in and Terra Avium get through with the weird and wonderful Strawhatz - and I promise this time I won't be announcing it through only to cruelly pull it from the final before I post it like happened in the original contest, oops xx

Great to see We're From Barcelona here, a real underrated track!

Wasn't expecting Hallo Leben to qualify, probably my least favourite entry from last year oops but nice to see it in anyway!

Hahaha what?! I'll gladly take it though, that whole package is always such an event *____*

Yesss at Peter Crowley through, and We're From Barcelona wow...I may have thrown that a pity point actually

35 Skall 104 //

36 Singerpurear 106 //

Approaching the end of the final, Skall are just hogging up all the spaces now (quite deservedly might I add) as they add another two songs to the two they already got through, a two-for-the-price-of-one offering from of Montreal and an absurdly long song title from indie faves Los Campesinos! Sandwiched between the two is The Actual Republic of Bellamia who finally see a bit of success again, oh my! Ruel came frustratingly close to giving them their first appearance in a BJSC final for quite some time but does at least have the consolation of a spot in Rejects. Lastly we have a retro hit from Moloko (a largely forgotten #17 $ma$h in 2003) which slides through for Singerpurear.

Only three slots left, there are still another 3 Skall songs, coincidence? :o

didn't have my eye on this at all but yaas at Queen of the Sea qualifying! Glad a few of you appreciate my oddball moments in this contest. Guess I'll have to vote in the finals for this!
