Whilst they’ve been high on iTunes etc it just doesn’t equate to many sales anymore. We will sadly see the Eurovision effect fade away as streaming becomes more and more dominant until such a time the UK takes it more seriously :(

I really think that ESC should use a bit of payola and get the winner on Today’s Top Hits etc!

I think he'll be between 90k and 95k come Friday.

Not sure how record companies can save the physical market of the album really, I guess the only option is to look at reducing the cost of new albums to say £6.99 or something

Do you think that "Soldi" by Mahmood ( italian song @Eurovision 2019) will be able to debut on top 100 singles?

thanks

Eurovision update - improvements for the 3 that were in already plus 2 newbies:

53 Norway (up from 66 yesterday)

63 Netherlands (up from 77 yesterday)

83 Italy

98 Switzerland

99 United Kingdom (up from 100 yesterday)

The Norwegian entry should have done enough to secure a Top 100 place on Friday.

I think 'Arcade' and 'Soldi' will probably stay top 100 as well. So that'll be one more Eurovision top 100 hit than we had last year at least. I thought KEiiNO would have had a chance at top 40 but they did less well than I'd have thought on Spotify.

(edit: actually there were 3 last year as well, I forgot that SuRie did manage to chart too. One more foreign Eurovision top 100 hit than last year then :P)

Nice to see Grace getting a repeak this far into its run but he really did screw HMWYW with his SYL strategy the other week.

Looks like Grace unfort will just drop out of the top 10 though.

Luca to somehow hold onto the top 100 plz 😭

Spirit can do like 7-8k total come Friday

If it doesnt totally collapse on spotify next 2 days

Good for top 75 but far from top 40, you need like 12k

NO OTHER SALES INFO

Before anyone asks we only have a top 40 update today, we do not have any info how well the Eurovision tracks are doing.
when we look back in a few years time, the charts will look pretty silly with all those urban acts having 3 entries in the singles charts on album release week, the occ really needs to do something and start distinguishing proper single and album streams

It's not just these so-called "urban" acts though, Billie Eilish had 3 songs top 15 when her album came out and now Lewis Capaldi will have 3 in the top 10.

A bit weird to specify "those urban acts", when just 2 years ago Ed Sheeran had all 16 singles from an album in the top 20.

Yeah bloody Lewis Capaldi and his urban tracks

slowthai's held that #9 album position in each update, do we know whether he's sold enough to hold it/T10 at least? Really hope he can!
