I can sing better than Cheryl and I usually get booed off stage during karaoke.

A pretty solid start for Katy there, think this one could well be a big hit for her, definitely sounds much more like a hit than '365' did.

Hope 'Greaze Mode' should get a new peak in the top 20 this week! 'Bullet From A Gun' could make a belated top 40 entry too as I expect it'll hold up better than 'Redrum' (and it has a music video etc.)

Would like to see Bullet From A Gun top 40, was very close already and still better than most of the album too!

Disappointed with how low down 'Love Me Not' and 'Gangsta' are from the Skepta album as they were the instant highlights for me.

It's particularly great to hear Sophie Ellis-Bextor's vocals again on the 'Murder on the Dancefloor' sample in Love Me Not.

So has the acoustic version of IDC done nothing,

Of the whole ep for miley the only decent song not going top 200 shame

Great hold for Katy! Hopefully it'll get added to a lot of playlists and rise well over the next few weeks or so. *_*
Well, to be honest, is a bit odd that a 35-year-old woman is still singing, dancing and acting like a teenage girl in her vids. :P

Or how about we let 35-year-old women (and older) do exactly what they want? Dancing and singing 'like a teenage girl' aren't restricted to those younger than her.

Stop policing women. So boring.

I'm so glad Katy is looking likely to make a hit out of this. It's a great pop song.

She deserves it after the 'she's over' mentality she's had lingering over her since Witness.

tbh this is the first good song she's released since Chained to the rhythm

Bon Appetit, Swish Swish, the one with Zedd, Con Calma, none was amazing, easy to see why they underperformed

I’m not disputing the quality of those singles — although quality doesn’t really matter with the chart anyway.

She became very uncool and easy to mock after her haircut (groan) and after Chained to the Rhythm ‘underperformed’. There has definitely been a narrative about whether or not she could ever succeed again.

It really does just depend on the right song (which I really think this one is) — funny how fickle the public can be.

not sure if I agree, think song quality does matter, and KP did release a bunch of non-great songs in a row

Song quality is entirely subjective though.

I think Swish Swish is one of her best yet but obviously that wasn’t going to be one of her biggest ever hits (though it didn’t do too badly)

She’s still at the point in her career where with a song with wide appeal she can get a big hit anyhow, she just isn’t at the phase where anything she does will smash but she’s not Madonna/Britney yet.
