63K is better than what Minty suggested but still a big decline compared to Divide,

which was at 432 on the Monday mids

while still doing okish on streams,

clearly the fanbase that buys physicals has deserted him

or maybe nobody buys CDs in masses anymore and the industry should be very worried

Or maybe the people that buy his physical albums don't like rap.
would be quite hilarious if the label had requested Thiago Silva to be reset

but the occ put Location instead by mistake :D

Weirdly I think that might have actually happened!

I mean he's drastically down on all formats, not just physicals. His current breakdown:

32,495 physical (÷ had 418,897 in total for week 1)

14,213 downloads (÷ had 173,701)

17,201 streaming (÷ had 78,944)

None of those figures will live up to ÷ when the week is out. Physicals represent the biggest decline of course but downloads are down notably too.

Or maybe the people that buy his physical albums don't like rap.

My thoughts too. I've kind of been under the impression that a large amount of his audience came from appealing to the "adult contemporary" crowd and with this project he's abandoned that crowd entirely. Hence being massively down.

I do feel like we have to accept that sales are down for everyone since his last album - I wouldn't call this a decline for Ed specifically, and as soon as he releases his proper next album I'm certain he'll improve on these numbers.

Only 64k for Ed Sheeran in 3 days, lmfao what a flop!!1!1!

Good to see 'Ritual' may end up going top 40, hope it does. Kygo still top 15 after yesterday is pleasing too.

So those numbers have release day sainsburys physical sales missing for Ed and obviously the usual missing day of streams, so he is likely over 80k already.
Hilarity...

A career isn't in too bad of a position when 64k sales in the early midweeks is seen as a flop.

What was the first week of Odyssey? Would be kinda weird if Ed Sheeran did worse than Take That with their half-arsed "lets cover ourselves" album...

Yay for ASIB!

He's just saying that because he thinks it's a funny thing to say.

i dont think the album will reach 100k by end of the week, No6 has largely failed to appeal to his demographic, he tried to go urban with this album but we all know urban/hip hop genre doesnt sell albums, just look at Drake, Nicki, Cardi , their albums didnt sell much compared to their singles success...

Wont do 100k? Why are people projecting this stuff when they know it is BS. It has done 64k with only 2 days streaming and physical sales missing from Saindburys (who would sell the vinyl and cd) on its release day which will be its biggest selling physical day.

Just because you want it to not sell over 100k doesn't mean it wont.

Just switched on R1 and they're playing Arcade Fire - Everything Now, wish it was the Top 3 and that was in it instead!

That would, indeed, be fabulous :D
