I wonder how that happened though? I still feel like the reset was intended for Thiago Silva instead :D

Looks like 3-10 in albums charts will be close.

Hopefully Kylie will stay top 5 but may miss out from streaming. Still should do 5-6k which would be great

#3 is selling almost double #10. It's not close.

I would put more weight into people saying he's turned off the casuals if he hadn't had a massive number one single, as well as other big singles clogging up the top ten. His music has always had some elements of hip-hop, and even Shape of You wasn't too dissimilar to anything on offer here.

Maybe some of the older fans aren't buying his physicals, but I would say it's mostly due to the album market just not being what it was a few years ago — over 100k in 2019 is clearly fantastic.

You're right - it's not too dissimilar. But I do feel like it's been marketed as a more urban-lead side-project rather than a full on album. Songs like Cross Me for example won't be big album sellers, so doing 100k in a week is pretty great. He's never going to to have an album opening anywhere near as big as Divide again due to album sales being in such heavy decline, but I bet he'll double these opening sales when he inevitably goes back to acoustic and straight forward pop for the next record.

It seems like the reset for 'Location' must have been a manual one so maybe the label are just giving it a renewed single push? It still doesn't have a music video etc., maybe it's going to get one soon? (Although I see no mention of that on Dave's social media accounts etc. so that's just a wild guess, it might just be a pointless post-Glastonbury reset).

I know it was on the Radio 1 playlist etc. but it kind of feels like it was just the song the public naturally gravitated to from his album rather than actually being a 'single' per se.

The Glastonbury effect still strong for the Killers Direct Hits.

Big drop back for the Lighthouse Family, hopefully it can steady up for the remainder of the week.

Spice Girls suffering a huge drop as expected but the drop is sharper than i thought it would experience.

Ed Sheeran on track to have 4 albums in the Top 40 this week.

I dont think the demand dor new ed is as big as when divide came out either, however i would love to be massive enough to sell over 100k copies in a week and be deemed a "flop" (he going to be first album this year to sell 100k in a week and lets face it unless adeles releasing he gonna be end of year number 1)
Dave just dropped a video for Location.

This is correct!

Wow at Ed I thought it would be on 120k by now oh well should still do 120k this week roughly
So the label were just able to ask for a reset cos of the video release? Whatever happened to the rule that the song had to be outside the top 100 to be eligible for manual reset then?

I don't think they ever stuck to that rule - wasn't 'Swish Swish' reset too despite still being Top 100?
