Posted September 1, 20195 yr Spill the tea on any unpopular opinions you have on Madonna's back catalogue!
September 1, 20195 yr Author Not sure how popular this opinion is in ~the real world~ (I know it has its lovers on here), but 'Crave' is one of her best songs, especially of the past decade. Should have been Madame X's lead single!
September 1, 20195 yr Erotica is one of her worst albums. Infact of her studio albums id only put MDNA below it. I think because a lot of it is spoken word musically it mostly does absolutely nothing for me.
September 1, 20195 yr Not sure what the general public would think but her 80s work is almost uniformly poor outwith her singles.
September 1, 20195 yr I actually love her cover of American Pie  It's not an absolute fave or anything but I really do like it a lot. Erotica is one of her worst albums. Infact of her studio albums id only put MDNA below it. I think because a lot of it is spoken word musically it mostly does absolutely nothing for me. Agreed, not a fan of that or Bedtime Stories!
September 2, 20195 yr Buzzjack actually seem to really like American Pie in general! It seems to be regarded as one of the worst covers as far as the public are considered.
September 2, 20195 yr I never listen to it any longer but I did buy it and I definitely don't hate it as such. There was just far better things to come from that era.
September 3, 20195 yr Sorry is the best single from Confessions.. and is one of her best singles, period.
September 3, 20195 yr '4 Minutes' is in my top 3 favourite Madonna singlesI think it's the same for me! Well top 5 at least!
September 3, 20195 yr '4 Minutes' is one of her most popular songs with the general public; I've heard it played in town before and it always goes down well. The Timberland production has definitely ensured that it's remained relevant with younger audiences as songs like 'Promiscuous' and 'SexyBack' are still hugely popular. There's a slight disconnect when it comes to the fans, likely because we know Madonna to be someone who discovers new ways of producing commercial sounds and genres rather than adopting an already successful style. The general public aren't that bothered.
September 3, 20195 yr Oh yeah I meant strictly in a BuzzJack sense! I never really see people listing it as a favourite on here. Except Jonjo right now, yay!
September 3, 20195 yr Ah I know, I was just thinking out loud really! You're right, it does tend to get a hard time from some on Buzzjack - I think we can sometimes have too high an expectation of Madonna when really we should appreciate a song for what it is. To me, '4 Minutes' is a really well-produced song and there's a reason it resonates well with the public.
September 4, 20195 yr Author Going off the poll we did, preferring 21st Century music to 20th seems to be my most unpopular opinion  I included tours and seeing her live etc in that, so it did sway my vote slightly!
