Probably one of:

Luca Hanni - She Got Me

Katy Perry - Never Really Over

Shawn Mendes & Camila - Senorita

Winona Oak - Break My Broken Heart

Normani - Motivation (does this count?)

Higher Love by Kygo x Whitney & I, Trance by Agnes deserve mentions for pop/dance songs.

---

EDIT: I'll add Zara - All The Time & Don't Worry Bout Me too tbh

Kinda depends how pop a song needs to be to count as pop, my favourite song of the year that I'd classify as primarily pop would be ROSALÍA's 'Con Altura' (which is about my 2nd or 3rd fave song of the year to date in all) but idk if reggaeton counts xx

Out of songs that are 100% unquestionably pop Charli/Christine is probably a good shout, Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Now That I Found You' is up there too. Also 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' if that counts.

edit: and 'Lover' x

excluding any DJ-led dancepop..

Zara Larsson - Don't Worry Bout Me

Katy Perry - Never Really Over

Dominic Fike - 3 Nights {technically not a 2019 but only charted this year}

Ellie Goulding - Sixteen

Mabel - Don't Call Me Up

Mark Ronson/Camila Cabello - Find U Again

For songs that are unquestionably 'pop':

Tones and I - Dance Monkey

Mabel - Mad Love

Mabel - Don't Call Me Up

It’s gotta be Mabel’s ‘Don’t Call Me Up’ for best pure pop. ‘All The Time’ and ‘Sixteen’ are close runners up.

Charli/Christine and the Queens – Gone

Carly Rae Jepsen – Too Much

Miles Cyrus – Slide Away

Mabel - Don't Call Me Up

Lana - Doin Time

Miley - Slide Away

Miley - Mother's Daughter

For songs that are unquestionably 'pop':

Tones and I - Dance Monkey

Mabel - Mad Love

Mabel - Don't Call Me Up

Literally might be close to my 3 least fave songs of the year lol (certainly the first two x)

There's been some great records out this year it has to be said. For me though it has to be Mark Ronson and Lykke Li 'Late Night Feelings'. Definitely one of the best things he's done and that it wasn't bigger is unjust I feel, I loved the wistfulness and the atmosphere of it.
