It was pulled years before the release of SBIT, so the years in between was lost sales.

Ultimate Kylie had a total of 1,035,000 sales as of August 2019, I'm not sure how many updated totals we had for it over the years, but there's a a chance it could still have some sales added to its total.

 

I say this because Girls Aloud - The Sound of Girls Aloud: The Greatest Hits re-entered the Top 200 albums chart in September 2021, which was rather surprising considering that the CD had been out of print since 2012, and it wasn't available digitally. Their album 'Ten' had essentially replaced it from 2012 onwards. Yet Official Charts Company still somehow managed to attribute streaming units to The Sound of Girls Aloud.

I think the previous known total was 1,006,786 as of June 2009 and for some reason 2009 sticks in my mind as when Ultimate Kylie was out of print but I could easily be wrong there. I’m pretty sure it was out of print by the time the 2012 best of was released though.

They should have continued pressing ultimate Kylie and not bothered with the best of release, anyone have the updated sales for that best of release?

I much prefer the title ‘Ultimate Kylie’ over SBIT - you knew exactly what you were getting with UK without even having to look at the track listing, SBIT is a bit of an outfall and doesn’t scream Greatest Hits tbh

Adding The Definitive Collection helps explain but they’ve already used Greatest Hits and The Best of …so the options are limited ha ha

They can still use The Very Best of, or Number 1s collection, some artists get around the number 1 release by adding songs that made number 1 in any country.

They could also go with 'Can't Get My Hits Out of Your Head'

I did too, thankfully it pick up sales from the looks of things most week but probably 500 tops, it must be on around 200k now.

I don't know if Kylie's overall presence is as great as those whose GH collections are always staples in the top 100, but I hope 'Padam Padam' can at least help it grow a little bit!

I wonder will another greatest hits happen with the format kinda dying out. I think kylie needs a rarities release she has so much to offer on a release like that. Even bmg should re release tension with a bonus cd of tracks from the vault since kylie joined them.

Unfortunately not, the album was averaging about 500 units and it takes 900-1000 to reach the Top 200. It might have increased its streams slightly but not enough to chart.

Well she needs to release a version that has Finer Feelings on it.
