cmon Meduza! this better be a big hit.

wow at ‘47’ going top ten too, Sidhu could potentially be the first Indian act to have a top 40 hit this decade unless I’ve forgot someone. :o song’s great too.

What was the last Indian act to have a Top 40 hit then? Was it A.R. Rehman?

Charli XCX is half Indian if she counts. Otherwise nothing springs to mind post-A R Rahman.

I still find it very strange that we had that brief punjabi/bhangra craze in the mid-noughties and then nothing after. I would love a long overdue return of this.

The closest we had this decade that I can think of is £1 Fish Man lol (but he was from Pakistan, not India).
what about Jay Sean? Isn't he UK-Indian? He hasn't been in the charts for a while but his remix of Ride It is currently in the top 3
Jay Sean is indeed Indian and born in the UK. Steel Banglez is also and has had recent hits before 47.

nice at David Grey, the 20th anniversary edition of White Ladder is coming

Although pedantically, the album originally came out in 1998 so it'll be the 20th anniversary of when most people bought it.

The closest we had this decade that I can think of is £1 Fish Man lol (but he was from Pakistan, not India).

Zayn??

...is also British

Maybe I've misunderstood quite what we were doing, but his father is British Pakistani

James Blunt should definately be Top 40 on sales only chart on Friday

40. Celine Dion - Because You Loved Me

Good to see this classic climbing
