The two biggest Christmas songs every year for the past few years have been those by Mariah Carey and Wham! and with both Mariah doing big promo and the film based on Last Christmas set to come out this year it could be a very heated battle for Christmas #1(and most definitely for 'post-Christmas' #1) between the two Christmas classics. It seems very possible that one (or even both) of these songs could finally become a #1 single but if you had to pick just one which would you prefer to come out on top?

 

I suspect Mariah will win this poll but for me it has to be Wham! :dance:

Mariah is more likely for the #1, but I definitely prefer Wham here.

Mariah any day. Last Christmas is so overrated.

Rooting for Mariah, especially with all the effort that's going into this 25 year anniversary - multiple formats, walkers crisps deal etc.

LC to get it because AIWFCIY is overrated and to honour George seeing as he was robbed of a Xmas #1 two years ago

Both good in small doses, but wayyyyy too overplayed, Wham I'd say as it's slightly less inescapable and has some lovely production. Having said that, it would be pretty lovely to see Mariah at number 1 this year.

I'm not overly fond of either and would choose nearly any of the other Xmas staples over both but I'm going to probably surprise people and say I'd rather see Mariah get the #1. x

 

Obviously The Pogues way above both of them, I am sad that Wham! have overtaken them as the 2nd most popular Xmas song.

Definitely Mariah. :heart: I would like to see Last Christmas make it sometime though! A pity it didn't manage it a couple of years ago.

Easily Mariah, Whams last Christmas is one of my least fave Christmas songs.

I love both, but like the thought that neither went to Number 1 tbh! I'd rather a current track get there instead.

Cosigning every word of this, really dislike listening to either. I guess Mariah is ever so slightly better, Last Christmas is just intolerable. Neither to ever get a #1.
