Goooood evening all and welcome to the beautiful city of Sjan Tivor in the state of Sanvoria. It is our absolute pleasure to welcome you all here for the Qualifiers for TBO XII and to welcome you back to République d'Áskorza for the 12th Best of the Buzzjack Song Contest. Áskorza has played host to part of each years festivities and this year will be no different. What will be different is the format! Banished are Rejects and Nominations and in place we have a gorgeous new 4 round format to play with. Overall we should be coming in at around the same 3 week length that a normal contest runs at so get buckled it, it's gonna be a face paced 3 weeks!

but the short and skinny of it is:

 

This is Round 1 of 4. Following the Qualifiers we will have Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and the the Grand Final itself. At each stage a set of seeded entries will enter as well as the top performing tracks from the previous round. There are 80 songs entering in the Quarter finals. We have the two best performing DNQ's from each of this years 20 semi finals and then if you failed to have an entry in that selection, your best performing failure of the year has entered. Ramrynia and Tartford have two equally well performing best of the rest failures and so they each have two entries. (It also evened our numbers out). So everyone with a DNQ should have at least 1 entry in this first round.

 

 

You have until December 21st at 23:59 GMT to provide me (Silas) with your votes for this heat. Non-voters will face a small deduction as per TBO norms. You are to vote using the Eurovision Points system in this round (12, 10, 08, 07, 06, 05, 04, 03, 02, 01). This will change as we move to the later stages of the competition so please pay close attention to the voting system being used. As we go through the competitions there will be countries with multiple entries, so as per TBO norms can you please be kind to the mods an include the contest number with the country in your voting! (thank you in advance!!)

I have a Q.

 

Do we have to vote for all the 10 songs? My problem is that I listened to all the songs this year (other semi DNQs included) and quite simply I don't have 10 songs I properly like in any of the heats. There are some gems, sure, I have 4-6 songs in all the heats I really like but I'm not motivated enough to go through all the rest to find my 2 pointer (random.org is not my style).

 

I'm happy to vote for a top 5-6 in all of the heats if that's possible, it's not an issue though if it's not allowed (I still might vote in later rounds).

Maybe should have used the Buzzfestivalen scoring for this round 🤔 will have to try that next year
