December 24, 20196 yr I think they did? They announced that the song was at #97 right at the end of the show bit they might have said something like 'it won't be at #1 this week' at the start.
December 24, 20196 yr Pleasing to see Kelly looking set for a new peak, that is definitely my favourite modern-day Xmas song (along with Kylie Minogue's 'Christmas Isn't Christmas Till You Get Here')
December 24, 20196 yr Yeah the songs do get used a lot as TV background music which is great exposure even if just to slowly get the songs into people's subconciouses. I really thought the album might sneak into the Top 100 this year but clearly not. 'Santa's Coming For Us' is great but I would have loved it if she'd promoted a different song from it each year. 'Ho Ho Ho' is fast becoming my favourite modern Christmas song  Snowman is my favourite. And as for Santa's coming for us, I wasn't that keen initially, but this year, it's started to grow on me :)
December 24, 20196 yr Next week gone be interesting see Ava max get top 100 once all Christmas song gone oh just get no new song load old songs back Edited December 24, 20196 yr by Djcheekymagpie
December 24, 20196 yr why would Ava Max chart next week? Presumably he’s talking about the Alan Walker collab expected out on Friday?
December 24, 20196 yr No more updates makes Friday's chart much more exciting, it'll all depend nohow huge Mariah's Xmas Eve and Xmas day numbers are

'Ho Ho Ho' is fast becoming my favourite modern Christmas song  I do that myself each year (which is why I thought radio 2 had playlisted CCL last year 😂) and then it usually charts itself but haven't added any this year due to the myriad of tracks released this year(indeed some will have to be playlisted by me next December as there's so many)! Snowflake is one that is standing out this year especially since Eastenders used it for their Xmas ad!
December 24, 20196 yr Author This is the fun part now, with no more updates for the week, I still think Stormzy will nail it somehow, otherwise I prefer Ellie at #1 that is just wishful thinking. Anyway if it is Mariah Carey getting a new peak, she comes off the Number #2 list permanently its not my favourite xmas song at all, I just hate the screeching parts in it lol. My favourite Xmas track has to be Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney and I'm quite partial to the Wizzard track. Not looking forward to a chart full of Xmas tracks, but hey its only once a year, the only part I hate over it, a week later all the old music jumps right back at ya. I think OCC will find a new rule or something in the distant future just to iron things out to a finer point. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, have a good one, and thanks to the chart mod team for their hard work into this forum and countdowns. Please join us on Sunday at 2pm with Joseph with a special chart rundown, see pin section part of the chart forum.

December 24, 20196 yr That Camila song would be #19 if you remove all the Christmas songs lol.  I wonder what’s making it catch on, I don’t know if it’s on radio, there’s no video. She hasn’t posted about it. Maybe the whole TikTok thing if that’s even popular over here
December 24, 20196 yr it's got very good Spotify playlist support already, plus the DaBaby feature must be helping it (he's going to be big here next year, and already is in America) and the song sounds like a smash

December 24, 20196 yr People actually think it's the Slade Christmas song My Oh My that's why it's climbing. In all seriousness is it not on radio 1s playlist already? 'My Oh My' isn't a Slade Christmas song and I very much doubt people think that Camila is covering a Slade song  Radio 1 have playlisted a different song of hers ('Living Proof') so I presume that's the single that's been sent to radio. This whole campaign is a bit of a mess tbh! I echo the above comments though in that 'My Oh My' does sound like a smash so I'm not sure why that wasn't pushed from the off tbh.
December 24, 20196 yr why would Ava Max chart next week? New single salt might get top 100 once Christmas song gone
December 24, 20196 yr Really hoping Stormzy gets #01, mostly due to media dragging his name through the first but Own It is a bop too - Ellie is an uninspired lazy cover, Mariah I love but she can get #01 next year I'm sure - especially with the final chart being on Friday iirc. Mariah biggest shot making #1 was this year or else she have to wait until 2024 due to 2019/2024 Christmas tracking weeks been on Friday-Thursday with Thursday streams being estimated, and Christmas day fall on Wednesday the last day OCC collected accurate streams data which favours Christmas songs. Mariah AIWFCIY can't make #1 in 2020 due to Christmas on Friday right at the starting point of tracking period so she only have 1 day high sales/streams with 6 days very little to none sales/streams combined come next year. Stormzy Own It will easily get #1 on following week with no competition.
