Biden's odds are apparently shortening in the betting markets so I wouldn't worry folks. I honestly think Trump will lose and am all but resigned to it now. I hope he leaves with dignity and doesn't cause any trouble or incite anyone else to.

If it's a Biden landslide which I think it could be then Trump will leave quietly. He can't challenge a landslide and Biden taking many states that he took 4 years ago. Won't have a leg to stand on.

I'd have preferred to see Harris as the nominee anyway. I think if Biden gets in then she'll be the first woman President. He may not seek a second term.

There are calls for them to mute the microphones of either candidate who interrupts or talks too much next time or goes over the allotted 2 minutes. The moderator was useless and had no real control and should have shut Trump up.

The Trump campaign are now putting out ads claiming that Biden was wearing an earpiece (a clear sign that they know Trump lost the debate). They have even issued a photo showing him with something in his ear. Whether the photo is doctored or not is irrelevant as it is at least a year old.

That's not how you win a debate. You win it by making better points and arguing against any points your opponent makes.

It's an inevitable risk with a system that makes it almost impossible for more than two parties to compete. Unless the US changes its electoral system, the chances of a viable third party emerging are almost zero.

Also: Trump only ''won'' the debate in the sense that he doubled down on his appeal to his base, that is not how you WIN a debate, or indeed, the election. I appreciate if you count the number of words spoken he was a very clear winner, but then again I doubt most people could name one single concrete policy or proposal Trump put forward. At least in 2016 he had talking points.
