And as for positions on Brexit, I can only speak for myself but I could never just meekly accept a result that I didn’t believe in.

Sorry but I have to say this. Yet Trump supporters are supposed to accept a result that they don't believe in. It's the same thing.

It really isn't Chris.

I believe that Leave won the referendum and the result should (and has ) been implemented. But I am allowed to moan about the consquences. I wanted an EFTA type deal (like Norway) to reflect the close nature of the result but extremists on both sides of the argument prevented such a compromise and we got stuck with this shite Canada minus trade deal.

Trump lovers are a bunch of delusional conspiracists that can't accept reality. Yourself included?

Yes I think most do believe like you that Leave did win, apart from maybe those like our Michael who thinks the 52-48 is too close, but they do moan about the consequences which of course is their right.

No it’s not, I do not claim the referendum was stolen and refuse to acknowledge we’ve left the EU. I haven’t stormed onto government property and injured and killed anyone to stop us leaving.

I believe that I and others have the right to be unhappy about having left the EU. We didn’t want it. We should be able to feel the way we feel about it. We should not be told to be happy about it and move on.

They couldn't be more different. People don't accept the Brexit results because they think it was a wrong move. Trumpets don't accept the results because they believe the voting was rigged. No one here has ever claimed the Brexit voting was stolen or anything of the sort :')

Well perhaps you could consider that final point when your ridiculing other posters for ‘bias’.

Oh I do but there is bias on both sides hence in the first week of January I posted that this thread will be like this for a while now....

Let’s face it any pro brexit opinion on here is jumped upon by the majority hence I couldn’t help but laugh when three replies dismissed the comment.

High horse, we are bad, being pro Brexit is edgy, etc.

Still valid replies though based on actual evidence. Didn’t really call for mocking. Plus I’m still not sure they count as biased.

Happy to have Pro Brexit opinions like yours in this thread Steve.

Just stop trolling please.

In fairness there’s a lot of mocking of pro brexit views on the thread which makes me instinctively feel like defending them.

I think that’s the thing that annoys me most among my group of pro remain friends there’s a middle class third level educated arrogance about the superiority of their views when none are ever going to have it REALLY hard in terms of getting a decent job etc. They just think they are smarter so their opinions matter more.

Pro-Brexit views are mocked when they’re presented without evidence to back them up. See everything Peacemob has ever posted.

The Financial Times reports that the additional paperwork and haulage costs associated with Brexit are expected to add roughly £1.50 to the price of each and every bottle of wine.

So, we won’t even be able to celebrate the “successes” of Brexit without paying a premium for doing so!

It's almost like literally everything Remain said is coming true after literally years of Leavers sticking their heads in the sand and saying it would never happen and there was no proof and actually their fantasy was the true reality.

The number of business owners who voted FOR Brexit in order to get on over on others and become richER off the backs of other British people losing their jobs, only to now find themselves losing money is both depressing and affirming. Play with fire and you risk getting burned, sorry bout it.

Sometimes it's hard to back them up though. Like trying to answer the question I'm often asked, here and elsewhere, even in real life: "how will Brexit make anything in the UK better?" Well we don't know as we've only been fully out a month. Ask me in 5 years.

That is not exactly rational though, is it? Let's vote for a major change on the off-chance that it might work out.

But I guess the questions which you can’t answer def are trading relation ships and costs when there’s so many factors to take into account, like asking what your bank account will look like in 2 years. When the brexit debate was always about more than simple trade and economics it went to the heart of the way government works. I always look at ireland again, I mean they would never have followed the independence home rule ideology if they thought only rationally about economics as it’s about more than that.

So the answer is to follow emotion and ignore logic most of the time?

The government should have foreseen all of this, down to a single detail. Everyone knew red tape would lead to extra costs. It’s not that difficult to predict lmao. Saying ‘no one could’ve known!!1’ is extremely naïve and stripping everyone of the responsibility.

Also the Northern Ireland comparisons... There is one tiiiiiiiny detail. UK was already very much independent 🤦‍♀️ The emotion in the Brexit’s case was fear with a sprinkle of racism. Not exactly the kind of people to be willing to plunge into the unknown with.

Kwasi Kwarteng, the business secretary, said: "Nissan's decision represents a genuine belief in Britain and a huge vote of confidence in our economy thanks to the vital certainty that our trade deal with the EU has given the auto sector."

OR... it might be the £80 million that you gave them Kwasi.
