Posted May 14, 20187 yr Steps - Album 6 Confirmed By Claire! Album 6 is coming and they are going to be working on it after the summer! Claire Richards has confirmed a new Steps album is on the way. During a recent interview, the lead vocalist confirmed the band are "working on new music again" and will make another revival album following the success of their 2017 album Tears on the Dancefloor and national UK tour. Woohoo! "It's not the end, that's for sure," she told The Sun. "After last year and the success of the album, it's opened up a whole new chapter for Steps. I don't think any of us thought this would happen. We were blown away. "We thought, we'll make the album and no one will be that bothered. "We made it for us, it was the best album we thought we could make and we just hoped that people liked it. But they loved it! "Once this summer and all of our gigs are out of the way ,we'll be working on new music again." http://www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/news/a85...new-album-2018/
May 14, 20187 yr Wonderful that this is confirmed. I really hope they can give us another strong album, i have confidence in them to do it.
May 14, 20187 yr I knew they would after the success the last album had! I'm hoping future music will be of a higher standard than the new tracks on the re-release of TOTD.
May 14, 20187 yr Great to hear! Their last album was an absolute triumph so I'm eager to see this album follow the same success.
May 14, 20187 yr Great news! (since I shamefully forgot to go and see them on their last tour too...) They seem to get on really well as people again going by recent live performances and interviews I've seen, really good group chemistry is a nice change to the bad blood they had around their first breakup.
May 14, 20187 yr Yes, as a group they now seem to have genuine affection for each other. Having harmony in the group gives a greater chance of staying together for the foreseeable.
May 15, 20187 yr I dont think it was just Claire, there seems to have been multiple issues that tore them apart which now seem resolved.
June 9, 20187 yr Author They also said new music was coming in their Recent 'Party At The Cinema' interview with Rylan. It was an amazing interview tbh :D
June 11, 20187 yr Can’t wait for this! Makes me wonder if they have for major label interest after the success of the last album?
February 28, 20205 yr https://twitter.com/OfficialSteps/status/1232981123430526977 This must be the start of the build up to the release of their brand new studio album. I am very excited to get another new album from Steps.
February 29, 20205 yr Exciting to know new stuff isn't too far away - I loved 'Tears on the Dancefloor' so I'm expecting great things from this.
March 1, 20205 yr I am so excited for the new Steps era, I utterly adored the last reunion of theirs. What are their chances of charting high on the album charts do we think? They had impressive first week sales last time and overall sales were fairly good for the time. I would absolutely love it if they managed to achieve a #1 album then they can claim #1 albums in the 90's, 00's, 10's and 20's which none of their peers from the same era can as of yet...
March 1, 20205 yr i think if they choose the right week, they’ll get a #1 album in 2020 (the 30 different formats we’ll buy will help too :kink:)
March 1, 20205 yr i think if they choose the right week, they’ll get a #1 album in 2020 (the 30 different formats we’ll buy will help too :kink:) Does the record label get inside info for other releases in a certain week so they can plan?
March 1, 20205 yr Does the record label get inside info for other releases in a certain week so they can plan? Most acts announce in advance when they are releasing as there is a release schedule...
March 1, 20205 yr i think if they choose the right week, they’ll get a #1 album in 2020 (the 30 different formats we’ll buy will help too :kink:) If they can get the type of promo they got last time (which was excellent for the album release week) then I think they have a good chance. It really depends on whether their sales stay similar to what they were last time or if they fall? The good news is the majority of their sales last time were physical so that puts them in good stead for high physical sales again.
March 1, 20205 yr Im Looking forward to the new album as I was/,am so impressed with tears on the dancefloor. Edited March 1, 20205 yr by Feel_The_Fever
May 18, 20205 yr If they push the new album as well as they pushed Tears, they could come close to match its sales. A good few fans, me included, have stayed with them - releasing a really good album helped aswell. They need to do an audience with style show if they could get one for the new album.
