Okay let's maybe discuss this episode in a different thread. It's 'bout to hit Netflix so cannot wait to watch it

I think this crop was weaker, not necessarily in terms of the talent but in terms of me liking them :lol: I would die for Rock and Jan but Sherry is really quite irritating even without the whole manipulative psycho saga. She seems quite loud and obnoxious and just a little too much, even if you can't deny her talent. I'm wondering if they'll edit out her talking heads or sth from future episodes because it's gonna kind of marr the season to see her in it loads if it carries on, obviously they disqualified her not long before the episode aired yday so they couldn't have done that this week.

 

I was very impressed by Jaida though, I thought she was gonna one of those "poise and lewk" queens who didn't really have much in the way of performance or was a bit bland but she turned it out! That lipsync was amazing.

 

Aiden I just can't go for tbh, all this talk of multiple personalities and I barely saw one personality :eyes: There's just not a lot there, I get there's maybe potential but there's such a strong crop this year that I don't think maybe being good with a bit of work is enough. And Dahlia... yeah imma pass on that one.

I enjoyed all of these queens again this week, my favourite being Jan. (obviously excluding miss She*ry). In terms of looks my favourites were from each category-

Entrance look- Dahlia

Spring- Jan

Fall- Jaida

Performance- Dahlia

Runway- Dahlia

 

Dahlia is actually turning out to be quite enjoyable for me, really liking Jaida too ofc. Aiden tends to fall into the background and be less memorable and Rock needs something a little more but is definitely still very likeable

I love Jan!

I'm not gonna talk about sherry's performances during the show due to her being disqualified and I want to focus more on the 12 other queens.

 

I do too think it was weaker group but I love Jaida and Rock.

 

In terms of each of the looks:

 

Entrance: Rock M akura

Spring: Jaida Essience Hall

Fall: Jaida Essience Hall

Performance: Aidan Zhane

Tulle Runway: Rock M Sakura

 

Actual performance and verse I loved Jaida's the most but was kinda week there was no real choreography and it felt disjointed. Also dahlia gave me like haunted girl in a haunted house then she did jazz girl vibe.

 

Jaida can lip sync very well *.*

I really liked the second episode, although agree that this group was weaker. In saying that, I really like Jaida, Aiden and Rock. I like Jan as well. Dahlia kind of disappointed me. I hope she improves as the season continues. I LOVED her fall look though. I won't talk about Sherry, even though it looks like she will be a strong competitor.

Yeah that group was much weaker overall, but still a couple of amazing queens in there. Jan and Dahlia were my favourites from that episode :wub:, but definitely potential with Rock and Jaida too.

 

Less said about Sherry the better, but even despite knowing what we know about her, she just came across seriously irritating in that episode, giving me major Mimi vibes.

I hate when they split the group up like that, altho I like the challenge concept of them doing their own sorta introductory verse but the songs were a bit shit on the whole really :lol:

I personally really loved the songs and thought they were some of the best in recent series. I loved the idea of them being given such a defined genre such as rap and Fosse-esque musical theatre as well

I think Jan wins the show based on talent now. My only note of hesitation is she didn't feel favoured in this episode, they had critiques for her right away while they were overly positive for other queens e.g. Aiden & Dahlia.

 

Also I really didn't agree with that top 2 in this challenge. What exactly did Sh*rry do that was so special anyway, or even Jaida for that matter? (Although she danced better in the challenge and the lipsync) If I'm honest I don't know much about this genre but most of them just spoke their verses when I expected singing, which surprised me.

 

Aiden Zhane gave me *major* Gothy Kendoll & I thought the positive comments did not match what I'd seen. Either for the performance or the runways.

I felt that Jan was definitely more deserving of a top 2 spot than 🍒🍰 but maybe I'm just biased against her lol. It seems Jan's critiques were mostly just because she had too many ideas which idk is that a bad thing at this stage? Her look was polished, she thought outside of the box and did well in the challenges. Didn't really make sense to critique her like that so early on.

Haven't seen the second ep yet... think I might wait for 3 to be there as well, so someone goes and it feels like things are progressing.

 

I appreciate that the split launch gives us more time to get to know the Queens, but as momentum goes for a series it loses it a bit.

100%! I feel like she's gonna be robbed and robbed all season, I just get the feeling :( I don't think for episode one, coming with that confidence and that much of an idea on who you are is something to be criticised.
