Will comment more later as I’m currently running but omg ‘Monster’ is one of my favourite Paramore singles, underrated

'Monster' is definitely up there with my fave Paramore songs, I was kind of hoping this Paramore anniversary entry would be something I didn't already know but here for it nonetheless ~

Also excited for Terra Avium's entry if the two Fractal Dreamers / Helblinde entries to other contests (both of which got max points from me) are anything to go by. Guess it was only a matter of time before they popped up as a main contest Terra Avium entry after their previous successes! Wholune certainly looks like an ~interesting~ choice as well. x

Azure Of The Horizon is an instant one for a personal fave titles list

addendum: 'X of the Y' where X and Y don't necessarily have to make sense is always a winning combination

Yes, we have gone back to Russia this month, here's hoping we don't flop like the last time we did (with Denis Kenzo).

From quick previews there's already a fair few songs I like the sound of, good good.

Song: Anywayz

Artist: Austra

Fourth time lucky for Austra? It was a long journey to get here for Altyr Muunilinst, who originally intended to send Karen Harding, they changed their mind for Miss Li - she was cut, then returned to Karen Harding before turning to Maggie Rogers... and now we're here with Canadian electronic band Austra. They've always faced middling success before but is a top 10 finally on the cards for them?

Song: f*** This Place Up

Artist: HAYES & Wiktoria

OMG! The return of Wiktoria? Forget that, the return of Varake! It's been a long time coming Varake to come back home but they're doing in rowdy style by pledging to f*** this place up with Swedish sweetheart Wiktoria turning a bit naughty with the help of Norwegian actor-turned-producer Hayes. Will this comeback be an almighty success or a sad reminder of the dark dark semi final flop?

Song: Pa Olvidarte

Artist: Emma Heesters & Rolf Sanchez

Yehesi are getting in touch with their Dutch roots at a time when their Eurovision Rotterdreams have been dashed. This duet of YouTubers is a sweet little ditty and not the latin number that you may expect from the title - how will it fare for the sweetest nation of all of Ms Tim's?

Song: Bùa Yêu

Artist: Bích Phương

Lotunia are giving us some culture today, honey! Taking us all the way to Vietnam, this track has won some awards back in its home nation so there's definitely some acclaim behind this one. They weren't able to get their first choice of entry to this contest sadly, how will their back up treat them?

Song: WAKING UP DOWN

Artist: Yaeji

Last of all for this section, we turn to Flynnonda, who are sending Yaeji to BJSC 123. This is the American artists second appearance in the contest, after finishing 34th in XCIX. The screencap looks wonderfully anime and the track has been described as "deceptively chill". Flynnonda will no doubt be hoping for another final showing after last contest, how will Semi 1 work out for them?

Yas Yaeji!! Been listening to Waking Up Down a bit recently - not the most BJSC friendly thing but I'd hope it make it to the final

also you guys have heard 'Nothing Like This' before ;)

'Anywayz' is a great track, think I like it more than all of Austra's previous entries so hoping it can do better than the middling success of the previous three! Nice to be on board with Altyr for once (when they finally got to a song that wasn't vetoed ofc xx). Already know and like 'WAKING UP DOWN' too, not as good as 'Last Breath' but that was a high bar!

Famous Dex in BJSC *_

The last time Lotunia went Vietnamese was one of their best entries so cautiously hyped for this one x

also you guys have heard 'Nothing Like This' before ;)

Have you smuggled an obvious sample past us or something xx

Famous Dex on a dance track is not what I was expecting to see this evening but it already sounds great.

Song: Cherry Red

Artist: ROXEN

It's time for the second and final of the Eurovision 2020 cast-offs, this time coming from Bhangra. Their original entry was unfortunately already taken from them so they've had to delve into Romania's national final to find Roxen (who chose to perform this song completely motionless live) and her cherry red. A fan favourite in Eurovision circles, will it be the same for the BJSC fans?

Song: Adiemus

Artist: Adiemus

Ever keen to delve back into the archives, Botanikka has chosen to send Adiemus with their self titled effort to the contest this time round. Honestly, I couldn't find anything for this entry that wasn't linking me to some Karl Jenkins orchestral thing so... enjoy and good luck to Botanikka and the ever supportive Addy!

Song: The One

Artist: Betty Who

For an artist who seems quite well known to the BJSC scene, it's surprising to see that Australian singer-songwriter Betty Who has never quite touched the top 15 before but hot off a 2nd place finish last contest and just missing out on an AQ spot, Betty is hoping this will be THE ONE to give her some mass success and give United States Of Jack another finalist.

Song: Dancing Next To Me

Artist: Greyson Chance

We've seen him before and now we see him again looking much more grown! Graciously passed down by Hendinian officials, TARO Bellamia send one of their biggest chart hits of the year and Greyson Chance returns to try and better his previous BJSC performances which have consisted of two DNQs and two 21-40 finishes. Not a glittering history but this has a bit of support behind it which could see him go just that bit better.

Song: London (feat. Nesdi Jones)

Artist: Money Aujla

Lastly for this section, we come to Dobago! We're getting a touch of Punjabi with this one, which has amassed quite a following on YouTube following its release back in 2014. Much like Lotunia's Vietnamese success, it'll be interesting to see if home country success can be translated into BJSC here for Dobago who love to switch up their sound to keep us guessing.

Adiemus is the 'Karl Jenkins orchestral thing'!

Greyson Chance is the only one of these that I've heard and he really has matured quite a bit since he was relevant hasn't he ~ pretty decent song.
