you really can manipulate charts these days I guess

I mean, let's be fair, they both tried chart manipulation...!

Might she not nab the #1 this coming week? I'm sure her sales will be more stable than theirs.

Biography

As a member of the British boy band One Direction, Harry Styles topped the charts, toured the world, and sold millions of albums before going solo in 2016. Reflecting the influence of childhood favorites Queen, Elton John, and the Beatles, Styles' solo material took a more serious and rock-based approach, while still delivering the pop sound his faithful fans desired. His self-titled album debut appeared in 2017 and debuted at the top of the U.S. album charts. Later that year, he made his movie debut in the Oscar-winning epic Dunkirk, which topped American box offices, making Styles the first British artist to secure a number one debut single, album, and film in the same year. His sophomore album Fine Line arrived in 2019. - iTunes

KINGS OF ACTUAL SALES :yahoo:

Our offer to help fans outside the UK get a copy yesterday clearly paid off :smoke:

Dua should have stuck to her original release date instead she had to slash her downloads and CD to under a fiver to compete rather than have full price sales this week #SCREAMING

Adore You now the longest-running 1D solo single! And joint third longest of all 1D singles :o

I wonder how close it was in the albums? I wasn't expecting 5SOS to be able to turn around that gap from Thursday's mids, amazing :o

Don't be a bad winner

I mean, let's be fair, they both tried chart manipulation...!

Dua was constantly selling 4k-5k a day and 5SOS did 600-1k, so not really both of them.

From OCC:

5SOS’s fourth album claims the top spot on this week’s Official Albums Chart, finishing just 550 units ahead of Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia. It’s the band’s second Number 1 in the UK after 2015’s Sounds Good Feels Good. View 5SOS's complete Official UK Chart history here.

83% of Calm’s Week 1 total came from physical sales, including 12,000 copies on cassette. For Dua, Future Nostalgia performed evenly on physical and streaming formats, each contributing just over 40% to her total. The album does however claim the Number 1 spot on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, shifting 3,000 copies on wax.

Less than 600 copies!

YES 5sos!

I agree with you and after all Dua's album will be number 1 next Friday.

Shame 5SoS fanbase are not able to make any single of theirs a big hit these days.

Dua was constantly selling 4k-5k a day and 5SOS did 600-1k, so not really both of them.

I mean, they were both slashing prices left, right and centre, offering crazy deals and offers, they BOTH tried the chart manipulation tactic this week. We can't criticise one for it and not the other.

(for the record I prefer Dua's album but she's got a better chance of making it next week so I'm not pissed)
