I'm sure people were much more upset who abided by the rules and couldn't attend their own families funerals Chris. I'm sorry he doesn't get an ounce of sympathy for me and I hope he is tortured for this mentally as he refuses to take accountability and do the right thing which is to resign.

I'm actually STUNNED at this briefing/waffle. Like....is this REALLY happening???

I admit he did wrong but lots broke the rules. Hey I did, people here knew people who did. He's denying any subsequent visits so let's see if the press have any proof.

Not even a sorry. The only ‘mistake’ he’s referred to is not phoning Boris before he did it-no one cares about that!

This is unbelievable! I think Tracey Thorn tweeted something about the ability to be shocked but not surprised at the same time-this is that!

He’s genuinely an absolute shambles. He has no regrets? He’s struggling to answer any of the questions? He doesn’t even if he’s broke anymore of the rules?

TBH I think the problem here is that he wasn't clear on any of the rules that he himself helped to formulate. That's what it all boils down to. He probably genuinely think at the time that he did nothing wrong and still doesn't, according to the rules.

You did break the rules you sloth head, Dominic Cummings.

He should have said sorry and think the people would have admired that in a man. I honestly do. Still he won't apologise though.

He’s reading everything from a piece of paper!

I can’t believe he’s not resigning

He deinied any of this was true at the weekend. "Complete falsehoods" was the line from government. Now he's admitting to it and he's only doing it because they've completely mis-judged the public mood.

So I’m guessing it’s our fault because we didn’t understand the rules properly.
Until this weekend I'd never heard of any kind of exceptional circumstances that allow this type of travel. The way they go on you'd think they were part of their slogan.

You're not getting it. He's not anyone.

The fact there hasn't been a single apology even when he was directly questioned tells you all you need to know. This was never gonna go any other way.

Still, Twitter's gonna be hilarious.

Obviously both Boris and Cummings will have taken PR advice as well as advice from their own press officers as to whether to do this was a good idea or not. They must have erred on the side of yes, it may clear the air. Somehow I don't think it will though.
This is not going to change the public mood. Whose idea was this?
He’s honestly made this so much worse for himself. I’m here for it!

This is complete car crash. I cannot believe the Government thought this was a good idea. Good to see across all social platforms he's rightly getting blastered, there;s so many roles in his story. There is no chance his kid did not stop for a piss on the way to Durham for example.

He can't even bring himself to say he's sorry.

Ignoring the two state PR agents that were up first, the proper journos are f***ing destroying him.

Gary Gibbons being “is it a fact that the prime minister cannot do his job without you” I actually screamed
