Hello! After almost two years, it is time for the return of everyone's fifth favourite song contest! :cheer: I'll be your host for this edition, yes believe it or not I both actually wasn't a bridesmaid in a song contest and it was actually in this genre in this music! Strange times eh, it's been a while since the last edition so let's remind ourselves of the synthy gorgeousness of what did win

 

 

If you can send a song as good as that to this contest, you'll be in my good books x Anyway, onto this current contest.

 

 

 

The main purpose of this song contest is obviously pop music, but there are certain rules to abide by to ensure we make some good discoveries here and aren't cheap hoes.

 

Here are the veto rules (thanks to Cameron for providing these and the banner!):

 

1. The song must not have reached the top 100 in the UK chart.

2. The Artist must not have an Artist Forum on Buzzjack.

3. Any song that we feel is giving other songs an unfair advantage (eg, Sales) or somewhat fits the veto rules (popular on the forum) will still be vetoed.

4. We are intrigued by artists that are perhaps not known outside of their own country. We want to discover the best of pop.

5. An artist will only get one entry per contest, so first come first served.

6. The song must not have been a top 20 hit in another song contest on the site. However, a song that has previously been entered into these contests may still be vetoed.

7. Remember this is an anonymous contest, please don't hint or reveal what you sent until the results!

 

We are using a GOOGLE FORM for confirmations just to reduce hassle, so please CONFIRM YOUR ENTRY HERE

 

There is usually a theme for these contests but as it has been so long since the last one, this will be an OPEN THEME for the best of the best of pop music, so send whatever you like, be it bubblegum pop, electropop, synth pop, Latin pop, baroque pop, Afrobeat pop, art pop...there's a lot you can choose from.

 

Genre fusions would probably be OK, but please ensure that the pop part is the most prominent part of the song.

 

I'll give you a week to confirm, we shouldn't overlap too much with Club Bizarre and BJSC (but surely you'll be wanting all the entertainment you can get right now right? ;o) so deadline for confirmations will be TUESDAY APRIL 14TH 23:59 UK TIME

This one is open themed. So if you want to send a ballad, send one. If you wanna send a pop banger, send one.

Oh excited to see this return! When even was the last installment? Was that the one that my votes at the 11th hour propelled you Chez to this glorious victory?

Yes, the last one was July 2018. During the period between then and now, I left the pop forum for a while so it wasn't pushed. Then I came back and vowed to make it successful again (The last installment had 29 entries which was the most we had). :michelle:

seeing as this is the only* song contest I dont have a widget for I think I’ll have to get searching for a (dance-)pop smash!
