Don't Stop Movin' wasn't a hit in the US? I'm kinda shocked, it was MASSIVE everywhere. But I guess the US lives in a different world entirely

I always forget just how big S Club were for a short time! Shame DSM never took off in the USA, surprised they didn't have more success over there what with their TV show being broadcast and Simon Fuller managing them...
I thought Don't Stop Movin’ was their biggest seller, but 800k is more than I imagined!

Some huge singles! Generally they performed better than Steps with their singles (bar Steps having the biggest overall hit with Heartbeat/Tragedy - which is their only Platinum single, whereas S Club 7 have 4 Platinum singles!). Steps were somewhat bigger than S Club 7 with albums though.

'Best' definitely hasn't sold that much unfortunately, SamJudd, it's only certified Platinum. Someone must have randomly made up that figure on their Wikipedia. :') The most recent figure I have for it is 381,704 on 14th June 2015. I wouldn't be overly surprised if it was revealed to have exceeded over 450,000 by now though.

The 801k figure is 5 years old and doesn't include streams so I'm quite confident it's a million seller by now. Possibly Reach too.

if it interests anyone -

does a good job of explaining S Club 7's success from a US perspective and why they could only get a single hit there (although he is very critical of them)

^ I just heard him say that Never Had a Dream Come True is "not a very good song" and turned it off  not listening to such tripe x

*.* now this is something we love to see

In rough sales order:

1. Don't Stop Movin'

2. Reach (if Liam's right and it's a millionaire, then it will have overtaken Bring It All Back!)

3. Bring It All Back

4. Never Had a Dream Come True

5. S Club Party

6. Have You Ever

7. Two In a Million / You're My Number One

8. You

9. Natural

10. Say Goodbye / Love Ain't Gonna Wait for You

11. Alive

I'd say that's actually a pretty representative order!

What a great order if that's true

I wonder if Bring It All Back could still be ahead of Reach? Bring It All Back does the best for them on Spotify! Although of course a lot of those streams could be from outside the UK, hmm.

That's true! I hadn't realised until Dan's thread that Bring It All Back was so high up their Spotify list. Three million "sellers" either now or not too far away??? :o

Might have been a bit ambitious saying 'Reach' is a million seller now - I thought it would have been a better performer on Spotify than it seems to be (unless their streams are mostly from the UK).

I've also found an OCC article from last June that reveals 'Reach' has outsold 'It Feels So Good', which beat it to #1:

Sonique's club anthem debuted at Number 1 with over 70,000 sales more than S Club, keeping them firmly in the runner-up slot for three consecutive weeks. However, while Sonique still leads on CD sales and downloads, S Club's 10 million lead on streaming means Reach is now a bigger hit by 85 combined chart sales.

Unfortunately, sale info for Sonique is even more scarce than S Club 7. It had sold 700k pure sales as of 2014 within the 21st century (it had sold an additional 32k in the 90s, although whether the OCC have considered that with the above quote or forgot about it...). Obviously we don't know how many more copies it may have shifted since then and we don't have any idea of what its streams are. My guess would be that 'Reach' is over 800k combined, maybe approaching 900k.

Ah so #2 and #3 could be interchangeable - I'd love to see an updated list at some point! I guess the OCC are quite unlikely to provide an update without a reunion happening

Amazing to see Reach outselling It Feels So Good - obviously both were huge but Reach definitely feels like the bigger classic!

Goes to show it's still a very relevant song now!! It's a shame it doesn't have a #1 peak to its name, #2 is nothing to be sniffed at but it was clearly deserving of that #1!

I'm still so shocked at their success. Like was I sleeping during all of this :drama:

You were missing out!!  Says it all when their lowest charting song "only" hit #5...!
