There's a comic relief style programme on Thursday evening on BBC 1 called "big night in" so this NHS song at the top of the chart might get a huge boost then as well.

You’ll Never Walk Alone coming for the biggest pure sales week in a while then?

I’m shocked the lead is by that much tbh! It’s a nice sentiment though and would make a change too having a #1 charity single what isn’t in Christmas week.

Of all the songs they could’ve covered too it’s one what actually fits too with the current situation.

Captain Tom Moore is a guest on the Michael Ball show and they will be playing the song all day too so expecting another big boost.
It's also up to #117 on Apple Music - wonder if it'll enter the Spotify chart soon as well?

Nice to see it getting some streams too - ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ is currently the top trending search on Apple Music.

Might be a silly question but does playing a song that you've bought on iTunes count to the Apple Music chart? Because most people would probably play the song after they had bought it so that would help with some streams..

No, I believe they are two separate platforms (otherwise the charts would be identical?).

I mean if you buy a song on iTunes (which counts as 1 sale on the iTunes chart), does listening to that song count as 1 stream (on the Apple Music chart)?

I don't think it does but if so that would explain the pretty good position on AM.

Once you've purchased the song, listening to that song does not count as a stream.

Ok, thanks. :)

It's a shame it's not as it's no different to streaming only you actually pay for a song.

That's the point, either you pay for the song and it counts as 1 whole sale, or you stream up to the total of 1 whole sale. Unless I've misunderstood/things have changed.

Nobody should be contributing more than 1 sale, though as always there are ways around it.
