Time Flies....1994 - 2009 was the second Greatest Hits compilation from Oasis. 'Stop The Clocks' came out in 2006 as the first Greatest Hits album, but only featured 18 tracks which were chosen by Noel Gallagher and came about at the end of their record contract with Sony. Time Flies...1994-2009 got released on the 14th June 2010 containing all 27 singles the band had released between 1994 and 2009 including 'Whatever and 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' which had never appeared on any previous Oasis studio album. 'Sunday Morning Call' is not listed on the official tracklisting, but appears as a hidden track on the end of Disc 2 making it track 14, so I've decided to allow it in the rate.

5. Whatever - 38.46%

Released as a non album single in December 1994 bridging the gap between 'Definitely Maybe', and their second album, '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?', "Whatever" entered the UK Singles Chart at number 3, their first single to enter the top 5, something every Oasis single released since has also accomplished, right up to "Lord Don't Slow Me Down" in 2006. Until the release of 'Time Flies...' the only other album you could find 'Whatever' on was Now That's What I Call Music 30, whoch later made the compilation album one of the most wanted in the second hand market. In the special boxed edition of the bands previous best of 'Stop the Clocks', at the end of the 'Lock the Box' interview, when Liam was told "Whatever" was not included in the tracklisting, he exclaimed, "Thank f*** for that."

The strings were played by the London Session Orchestra which featured former Electric Light Orchestra violinist Wilfred Gibson. The strings were arranged by Nick Ingman and Noel Gallagher.

The B side to 'Whatever' was 'Half The World Away', which ended up being used as the theme tune to the TV hit series 'The Royal Family'. The other two B Sides were "Slide Away", which already featured on the bands debut album 'Definitely Maybe' and (It's Good) to Be Free".

Jade will be very happy 'Whatever' is finally out.

I'm voting 'Some Might Say'.

 can finally vote for something else!

That is 'Wonderwall'

Love the strings section on 'Whatever'. Wonder though it 'Half The World Away' was released instead in the December would it had knocked Michael Jackson off the top spot that Christmas?

Wrong year - Whatever was kept at number 3 in 1994 by Mariah at 2 and East 17 at 1. MJ was Christmas 95.
