May 1, 20206 yr No surprises at all, it was quite obviously going to be #1 as soon as Scott started  Decent charity single though of course, superb choice of song to cover and they didn't do a bad job! Just a shame it means Blinding Lights won't be breaking that record. :nocheer: I didn't know the original of this song (yep my Foo Fighters knowledge is not great oops) so I don't mind this version at all! :o You need to hear it, I like this version but the original is brilliant
May 1, 20206 yr I didn't know the original of this song (yep my Foo Fighters knowledge is not great oops) so I don't mind this version at all! :o This is def now Foo Fighters legacy song like 'Fix You' for Coldplay!
May 1, 20206 yr The Pretender or These Days are tied for my fav Foo Fighters songs tbh, Times Like These is okay but it's nothing too special from them
May 1, 20206 yr Have we had back-to-back charity singles before? Shame The Weeknd wasn't able to reach a historic fourth run at #1 but he has had his time!
May 1, 20206 yr Be Kind to smash next week plz, I'm obsessed with it atm and hope it can be another big hit for Halsey! <3

Worry how far this no1 will fall this week, it has good airplay behind it though. Can see it no1 on AirPlay this week.
May 1, 20206 yr Have we had back-to-back charity singles before? Shame The Weeknd wasn't able to reach a historic fourth run at #1 but he has had his time! Yes, in 2014 with Gareth Malone's All Star Choir followed by Band Aid 30.
May 1, 20206 yr That moment when YUNGBLUD gets a #1 single though  I do actually think he'll be able to get a #1 album this year!
May 1, 20206 yr A small observation that I'm not sure has been posted on here yet: this is now the third #1 that has vocals from Dan from Bastille, all of which are him doing a single line on a charity ensemble song  (meanwhile peaking at #2 three times with his own actual songs, poor hen). It seems something bad happens in the world every 3 years to get Dan another #1 - ebola in 2014, Grenfell in 2017 and now this. I dread to imagine what's coming in 2023 xx (I believe Rita Ora is the only other person who was on all 3 of these songs, a few others were on 2 of the 3). Not really a massive fan of this cover but WD at it getting the #1 after all, it would have been kind of a shame if its release strategy denied this moment for Radio 1 I guess ~ (and I do really like the original song so cool to see it being a #1 in some form).
May 1, 20206 yr I really enjoy this version of Times Like These, very impressed that it made a comeback yesterday to get #1! Awesome job. Just kind of dreading how far it could drop next week but we should have another interesting chart to look forward to!

May 1, 20206 yr Hope Times Like These can hold on prevent Toosie Slide from making that artificial climb to #1. Edited May 1, 20206 yr by SKOB
