Great choice guys :cheer: I think Gaga will breeze through but the other spot seems unpredictable - I really don't think the girls are dead certain to go out at all with 'Love Thing' as their choice, definitely a sensible move ~

Top three is amazing tbh. And all this push and shoving has certainly brought 'Love Thing' into my Saturday in a major way. So whatever happens now, it's all good. Well done Jay and Spiceboy.

 Hopefully Spice Girls will receive a fair few votes, and indeed whatever happens nothing can take away from the fact that the forum made the Top 3 votes, with thanks to you guys & many others. Thanks for the support, everyone! :cheer:

To others who haven’t seen, the round is now open! Spice Girls vs. Rihanna vs. Lady Gaga. If you’re able to include Spice Girls in your vote, that’s great - you just need to vote for your 2 favourite songs out of the 3 this time. http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=235587

Good luck guys! It's gonna be close between Spice Girls and Rih I think. If I'm honest it would've been hard for any Spice album track to top Rih and Gags this round for me.

Honestly this was an easy pick.

Spice + Gaga.

Breakin Dishes is fine, but the others are more special.

I always feel my taste is so different to other Gaga fans. I like Dance in the Dark...but it's never sounded especially like a single to me. Her repeating "she's a mess" over and over isn't my favorite...and I know she deals in odd a lot...but I find the reference to JonBenet Ramsey to be...very...odd. It's a fab concert opener, though.

To my ears, Gypsy is her career's great missed opportunity....probably followed by Speechless and Scheibe.

But. Anyway. Based on the options, Love Thing legitimately is my favorite.

I've only just now become familiar with Breakin Dishes. I like that one too.

Spice Girls are doing okay in the votes so far! :cheer: Remember to vote if you haven't already: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=235587 The deadline isn't for a while: 22nd June, 17:59 BST.

I'm glad that we went with Love Thing in the end. I know it might not be everyone's ultimate favourite track from all of the Spice and Spiceworld album tracks, but as we saw from the flash poll, the votes were quite spread out across the Spiceworld tracks whereas Love Thing was quite a clear front runner.

I think for a lot of fans, Love Thing has always been held in a pretty high regard. Not to the extent of Never Give Up on the Good Times, but it's definitely up there as a fan fave.

I wouldn't say I regret us sending Never Give Up on the Good Times as early as Round 3 ["songs without music videos"], because with 22 songs in contention in that round, we had to ensure it was a strong choice that didn't risk getting lost in the mix! It'll be interesting for you guys to eventually see where that song placed in that round.

Some might not consider Love Thing to have been a missed opportunity and that's fair enough, although I would disagree to an extent. I think at the time it would have easily worked as a cute 5th single, if they'd wanted to push the era that far. Its production is very of its time - I'd say it comes across as more obviously dated than the songs they did choose to be singles, but I think that's part of its charm. It's a fun song, full of personality! :music:

Its inclusion in AF Idol made me feel like revisiting some old performances (Istanbul '97 and Wembley '98), as well as from last year's tour.

Love Thing is such a BOP!

One of their best ever and you can tell that it was Spice's 'the single that should have been'. In an ideal world, they would have released in Summer 1997 in Europe/Asia and then release Spiceworld a bit later in Spring 1998 after 2 Become 1 has slowed down its success there. That would have brought the campaign in the USA in line with the rest of the world and perhaps continue to capitalise on their huge success there without oversaturation in 1997 which saw Spice Up Your LIfe suffering from over there.

The Istanbul version of it is my favourite, just that arrangement is super cool and made it sound so fresh. More so than last year actually (which sounded almost like it was a pre-recorded track or a slightly different recorded version from the album one).

Also, thank GOD Geri came back cos Mel C doing the rap verses was painful in Wembley 98  Cant believe they gave it to her as well as Wannabe's iconic Geri lines. She really didnt do them justice imo and was only screaming them

It’s a shame we didn’t make the final but we did great . Well done spice fans.

We bow out of AF Idol 2:0 in a respectable Bronze placing!

Myself and Jay went into this competition thinking we would lose out quite early and when the prospect of actually coming top 10 began to look possible we were incredibly excited, so to actually come top 3 is just beyond all our expectations. It clearly showcases that our girls have some fantastic music (Melanie C getting us to top 3!!! ) Thanks to everybody that voted we did our girls proud :cheer:

I think the highlight of the Spice Girls' performance in this competition was how much love 'Who I Am' received from people who would have otherwise never have heard it.

Well done to the mods and the community here for all the choices. To repeat what I said in the main AF Idol thread, I think some rounds weren't to your favour, more than what other AFs experienced, but you handled the challenge well, and I think the unpredictable choices allowed members to make some great discoveries.
