Ouch those album sales.

I didn't know the Vapors were still together, talk about 80s

Turning Japanese :D:

It's actually 39 years since their last album, which is the 5th largest gap between studio albums of all time!

Katy calling this the lead single doesn't really matter, it's her seventh release in 18 months - of course Harleys and Never Worn White were promotional tracks anyway but 365, the Con Calma remix and Small Talk all made little impression. Never Really Over is the outlier and seemed to buck the downward trend she seemed to be on. That's before we consider the fact it's strongly rumoured that at least Never Really Over is on the album anyway, meaning Daisies isn't the lead. What Katy calls it doesn't actually matter.

Daisies isn't smashing out the gate of course, but it's important to look at context. It's only just been added to Hot Hits UK, and its Spotify performance so far is similar to Small Talk - which had HH support in week 1! That also had instantly huge Capital support - Daisies is not playlisted on there or Radio 1 yet. It's doing just as well as her last proper single release despite lower support - it's really not so bad when you look at it that way and it's important not to just look and say "she's doing badly."

Additionally: Small Talk was #33 on Monday's midweeks, ended up at #43. Harleys was #41 on Monday, ended at #45.
Also Katy is sadly sliding down that chart, could be lucky to stay top-forty at this rate.

I take that with a pinch of salt at the moment, take a look at Little Mix single for example, started off a bit sluggish, and now the track has got its mojo back  its in 2nd gear. :P just thinking out loud, I might end up been wrong.

Blimey... that long :o Turning Japanese is a jem, I bought that on 7 inch vinyl, I used to play it to death. I just grab my anorak now

Good climbs for Breaking Me, Don’t Need Love and Kings & Queens is great to see

Was really hoping for a better debut for Charli, I thought possibly top 10 officially never mind missing top 15 on first midweek

6 Paradise Lost - Obsidian *

*.* The lead guitarist of this band lives in my town, so I'm championing this to become their highest charting album!

Little Mix’s song is decent though.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love for KP to debut high and smash sempiternally but it just seems that even with a very good song like Daisies the GP are not that keen.

Great to see Paradise Lost this high although I guess they won't stay there

Goth metal is not my thing but these guys are from Halifax and 4 of them were at Crossley and Porter school at the same time as I was in the late 80s. I wonder if when they formed the band they really thought they would go on to be European megastars which I believe they are in Germany and Finland with a string of Top 10 albums there in a 32 year career

I say well done them for being a successful British export over a long period

How is Charli not even top 10 when the sales are as low as they are? Christ.

Really thought this would get there to make up for 'Charli' missing out :'(

6ix9ine stabilising top ten? Charli not top then I'm albums? Katy flopping? Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi back?

Wow a lot of people need checking for Corona with their lack of taste :(

Regard and RAYE at No.39. :yahoo:

GET READY LADIES!

Yes!! :cheer:

Sadly I wouldn't be surprised to see it slip back out however as it fell from the mids last week too.

Interestingly we've got two >3 y/o songs getting manual resets towards the bottom end of the chart this week - they are 'Surrender' (Natalie Taylor) and 'Play Date' (Melanie Martinez). Dadi Freyr is also Top 100 at this stage.
