Ideally, y’all would listen to the playlist. It’s good knowing the songs but I think it could have a different impact upon hearing them all again!

Had I voted before I listened to the playlist, I would have had three different songs on my list, but since listening to the playlist, I forgot how good some songs were. I’m going to give it another listen tomorrow before I finalise.

but why is everybody voting in 5 nanoseconds?

shouldn't we all give these songs a chance even if they're bad? there might be a grower or 2 in there? :D

Yes I believe everyone should listen to Bounce Back on repeat for half an hour before voting. :gaycat:

Dua Lipa - Swan Song

Ellie Goulding - First Time (w/ Kygo)

Katy Perry - Rise

Lady Gaga - LoveGame

P!nk - There You Go

Rihanna - FourFiveSeconds (w/ Kanye West & Sir Paul McCartney)

Robbie Williams - Rudebox

Zara Larsson - This One's For You (w/ David Guetta)

It would take longer than that.

Doesn’t make it good though just because it was a hit - I’ve been giving Calvin all the love but he was way down there with the addition of Dizzee on vocals :puke2:

Kylie sneaking in with All I See when we couldn’t send Open Wide because it wasn’t released properly in the UK? Open Wide was a US single mm k

Bit of an iconic round. Some tracks are so much worse than I remember (hello Rihanna/Girls Aloud), but generally the playlist wasn't a horrible listen. It was my first exposure to the P!nk/Robbie/Madonna entries, but I don't think I'll be in a hurry to re-listen. 'Mama' is and always has been naueseatingly trite.

That was a rule?

Well we couldn’t send it as it was a promo single here but it had a proper push elsewhere

Oh right. Not sure why that would be excluded when it's still considered one of the worst and surely not receiving a proper push in the UK would put it more at a disadvantage if anything.

Actually hang on, was All I See really a single in the UK??

Open Wide was only pushed to one radio format in the US (presumably while Outside impacted mainstream radio), we had a discussion about whether it should be allowed and we ultimately decided it wasn't really a proper single.

All I See isn't directly comparable as it was a full single, but in Australia as the fifth single, Canada as the second and America as the first. We probably should've questioned it to be consistent but it's a bit late now, and at the very least there is a distinction.

Yeah a single is a single, it seems like a really picky and unnecessary rule. Some songs like the GA one were only pushed in the UK, should that be excluded?
