After receiving 12 votes to go, both 'Rockstar' and 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker' have been eliminated in Round 2. 'Rockstar' is the Nickelback single that seemed inescapable during the first half of 2008. It was EVERYWHERE! It back their fourth UK top 10 hit and highest charting single - peaking at #2. It's weird to think the song was initially released in the summer of 2006 - 18 months before it found success over here. I am not surprised 'Rockstar' is disliked on this forum. I never liked it myself (yet another example of overplay) but it's not as bad as some of the crap dominating today. :kink:

'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)' was the debut single from Sandi Thom - one of the artists (along with Lily Allen) who found success through MySpace when it was in vogue. 'Punk Rocker' topped the UK chart for one week in June 2006 before being dethroned by Nelly Furtado's 'Maneater'. The single also reached the top 10 in Sweden and France and remarkably topped the chart in Australia where it stayed for 10 weeks (!!!) and became the biggest-selling single of 2006 in the land Down Under. :o Despite also bagging a number one album, Sandi's commercial success didn't last - her only other top 40 single being the (imo superior) #22 smash 'What If I'm Right'.

Would've gone with Sandi Thom next anyway so that's alright! Hey Baby avoiding the bottom 2, a victory for novelty at last :cheeseblock:

I'll go with Leave Right Now, although I like all of these mostly the same!

Yeah! to go. I'd rather Hey Baby stays in just a bit longer as it's quite feel good despite it being annoying as well. Never cared for that Usher track anyway so easy choice!

Leave Right Now for me, Hey Baby is a fun bop

Rockstar is underrated to me, I don’t find it that bad. I get that it was overplayed but that was 12 years ago, I’m amazed people are still affected by overplay after all that time.

Easily Hey Baby now.
