Why? Bounce Back and Break Up Song only got one week in the top ten (with a #9 and #10 position) with tons more support. This has less support and is debuting lower. It won’t make the top ten.

If they are clever with the video release and their team pushes the song even more on streaming around the same time (i dont see why they wouldnt) i would say it definitely has a chance.

 

Also, the girls seen the first edit of the video yesterday so im sure it will be coming this Friday.

Yeah same, but i do remember when they were doing radio promo for Bounce Back and the radio hosts said they had already seen the full video, the girls seemed very confused as they hadnt even seen it yet and that was only a few days before release so i dont think it takes too long, i could be completely wrong though!

This is Capital’s record of the week. It’s definitely getting a bigger push besides streaming than Break Up Song.

I'm finding it so hard to get into this properly. I like it but it's not really giving me anything I'm rushing to get back to with any kind of excitement.

Think it's worth pointing out that, regardless of position, 'Holiday' is looking to sell just under what 'Break Up Song' did on its first week.

I still feel oddly confident with this and I don't know why. Usually I'm quite a bit more pessimistic, but with this, I just can't not see the locals latching onto this once airplay picks up (or it gets out of Taylor's shadow :heehee:)

 

If it flops in 4 weeks and shows no signs of recovering, then sure, I'll admit I was wrong, but until then, I'm really not gonna panic :kink:

I don't see any cause for concern at this moment either. I remember a similar situation with 'Break Up Song' tbh - I think people are just overly cautious because a lot is riding on this era being a success following the messy LM5 era.

I'm kind of conflicted about this song, I think I am liking most of it but sadly finding that the first half of the chorus (with the lowkey NEIKED-esque instrumental) really falls quite flat and I think that is detracting from the impact of the rest of the song. :( Hoping that it might be a grower but at the moment it's feeling pretty underwhelming.

I think some of you are being way too optimistic, I think this is heading for a similar run to Bounce Back.

Exactly how I feel, it's fine but I'm not really seeking it out to listen to, the only times I've listened aside from my first couple of listens on NMF were because it's after Folklore in my Liked Songs on Spotify :lol: Such a downgrade from BUS, it's not terrible but it hasn't got that same charm and replay value, it's just a good ish pop song.
