I did actually notice this. There's lots of references to the past on Confessions, like 'Hung Up' takes lyrics from 'Love Song' and her journey to fame and experience of it is a running theme. The music itself is a return to her original dance sound / the music that was big when she was first starting out. It feels like this was the first time Madonna took notice of her legacy, other than perhaps in 2000/1 when the backdrop of her performances of 'Music' was a montage of music video clips.

I picked up a pre owned copy of this from my local ASDA last night so am looking forward to finally hearing this in full soon. The singles are fab obviously (apart from 'Get Together' which is just alright for me).

'Sorry' now available in HD! Funny, just this morning I was wondering when we'd get another HD video!

So I started listening to this in the car as we were going out earlier in the week and have now heard the remainder today. Here's my rank of the album

1. Sorry

2. Jump

3. Hung Up

4. Future Lovers

5. Forbidden Love

6. Isaac

7. Push

8. Like It Or Not

9 .Get Together

10. Let It Will Be

11. How High

12. I Love New York

A pretty cohesive album I think, only 2 I wasn't too keen on but I like the mix of sounds in it and the Donna Summer sound especially on 'Future Lovers'. 'Get Together' is ok but never really a standout for me. Could've done with something as the 3rd release personally.

'Get Together' was never a highlight for me to begin with, but eventually really grew on me after it became a single. I still maintain 'Jump' should've been third but I can't really see what else would have really worked better as a single (fantastic as the album overall is)
Honestly, I think 'Forbidden Love' was the big missed opportunity as a single. 'Isaac' is my favourite from this album, but that wouldn't have worked as a single I don't think.

Agreed Jon, FL could have easily have worked as a single. 'Isaac' not so much but it did stand out at the very least.

I've always loved how 'Jump' is followed by 'How High' on the tracklist.

 I've never made this connection before

It's such a fantastic album. I love listening to the song on the album.
There was a time I would have preferred Jump as third single - I believe as originally planned - and Forbidden Love as fourth single, but Get Together has grown heaps and bounds in my affections and I now consider it one of my favourite Madonna singles! I guess they could have released another single within 2006 if they moved the releases closer together but I suppose the tour made it harder to commit to a single. Then again, a song like Forbidden Love doesn’t necessarily need Madonna in the video, I could envision a video that included various couples leading the narrative.
I feel like Get Together belongs on an EP with Kylie's Love At First Sight, Wow and Get Outta My Way.

Get Together is sublime. Dare I say I enjoy it more than the other singles off the album by some distance now too! All 3 are 10/10 but Get Together is 11 or more! this album <3
