October 4, 20204 yr Last CD single has got to be "God Only Knows" which is a charity single for Children in Need back in 2014. Tesco thankfully stocked it. Non-charity it's got to be "Broken Arrow" by Pixie Lott. Last Cassette single, I think was "Shut Up!" by Kelly Osbourne and that's going back to 2002/3!!
October 4, 20204 yr After not buying any for years I’ve purchased a CD single recently - I’ve bought quite a few 7” and 12” vinyl too. Dermot Kennedy - Giants CD
October 4, 20204 yr I've not been in a HMV for a while but you would think with the vinyl revival there would be a big market for vinyl singles now and HMV could have a decent stock of them. I'd pay £9.99 for a few select singles from artists I love. Artists could re-release big singles too on 7 inch vinyl to be stocked, Spice Girls Wannabe, Adele Someone like you and so forth. I think they would get some nice casual purchases. Edited October 4, 20204 yr by sammy01

October 5, 20204 yr Not Giving Up by The Saturdays. I think it was signed, pretty sure they did signed CD singles for every release.
March 10, 20241 yr The first time i bought CD singles was 1994 which was the first year you couldn't get everything on 7" I think the last CD singles i bought were early 2010 Timbaland/Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again Lady Gaga - Bad Romance Back then there was only a very small section in HMV they were phased at the end of the 00s
March 10, 20241 yr I only really bought the singles if I didn't think I was likely to buy the album they were on. Last CD single was "I Am" by 3rd Wish in 2005 which never made the Top 40. They disappeared off the face of the earth after that and I don't think there was ever an album. Last cassette single I think was "Salva Mea" by Faithless. I no longer have my cassettes and did end up buying the Faithless album.
March 10, 20241 yr I bought a talentlessGeri Halliwell single as a gag gidt froma charity shop - cost 20p - aaand inside was volune 2 of Love Ballass: The Album, inclusing shite by Westshite!! Does that count? Other than that, the last single I bought was probably a chart campaign download offf GaGa. Maybee Rain on Me from Amazon? No, wait, I also bought All I Want For Xmas!! Again, from amazon. Oh and Dance The Night.
March 10, 20241 yr If we're talking recently then it's Calvin Harris & Sam Smith - Desire. Before downloads and streaming took over the last CD single I purchased was T2 - Heartbroken at the end of 2007 (one I still wish I owned because the streaming re-record doesn't hit the same).
March 10, 20241 yr I haven’t brought one since the heyday so probably Band Aid 30 or ‘December Song’ by George Michael. I also buy a classic Christmas single if I see them on vinyl in car boot sales etc!
March 10, 20241 yr I think the last one was George Michael December Song which was in special PostCard form. I also purchased some Xmas cd singles like the Justice Collective and Band Aid 30 around 2014! We have an echo nearly 4 years later :kink: (not sure why this thread was randomly bumped today x)
March 10, 20241 yr Author Well this thread is a blast from the past. Since I started it I’ve bought a grand total of one single on CD… and this was of course Kylie’s Padam Padam last year! :P
March 10, 20241 yr I’ve been actively trying to get cd singles so I’ve recently got yes and, murder on the dancefloor, stick season & paint the town red!
March 10, 20241 yr I’ve been actively trying to get cd singles so I’ve recently got yes and, murder on the dancefloor, stick season & paint the town red! I'm interested to know whether you actually have anything to play them on or whether you just buy them as collector's items?

March 11, 20241 yr I bought Billies What was I Made For? On cassette the week it was pushing for UK #1 I think? Before that though I honestly can’t think! The price tag for that one really pushed me to do it and the fact I really wanted it to snatch that #1.
