Some discussion about 'bad idea' in general in the 'thank u, next' thread has inspired this one!

I'd say that the outro of 'bad idea' is one of the most idiosyncratic moments in Ariana's discography to date. This is the final minute or so where the strings appear, then morph into trap production again with slowed down low pitched vocals. If this had been a single then I'm sure they probably would've just chopped that all off for the radio edit. What do you guys think of the outro alone? Would you prefer 'bad idea' to end around the 3 minute mark or do you think the experience is enhanced with that outro?

I personally do think it enhances the song! I love the string moments on the album, 'ghostin' is another huge example of a stunning string outro. Pitched moments in songs are generally hit-or-miss for me, but I think it fits the vibe of 'bad idea' well. I remember the outro feeling very unexpected when I heard the song for the first time!
I like it but if Bad Idea was made a single (like it should have been) then they definitely should have released a single version with it cut out.
I enjoy it, I don't find that I skip it much, if at all but I absolutely think a single version without it would have been necessary had it been given a push.
