I think it’s the one song that really stands out to me as it saves the album from a little bit of a lull from KWAP to Extreme Occident for me. This album has massively grown on me in the last few months considering I disliked pretty much everything aside from Crave & Medellin when the album first came out - I was so disappointed with this after Rebel Heart!

 

But some of the stuff is pretty fabulous on here for me now, thankfully. The collabs are pretty fun for the most part and then songs like God Control really stand out for their message.

 

I’d not heard any of the bonus YouTube tracks before now but I can’t say I was a huge fan of them. Funana may be one of the worst ever songs I’ve heard from Madonna, aha. Perhaps, I’ll be writing an identical post to this in a year’s time saying they’re growers too :lol:

I do appreciate it as an album, and I appreciate the experimentation and risks she took with it. I'll always welcome that from her. I can't say I went back to it as much as I expected — I just find it a little too inconsistent and struggle to listen to it all without skipping some tracks.

I thought Funana was universally liked !!!
