August 6, 20205 yr it now seems that folklore being available on CD in the UK early was an accident according to Variety  we love a messT
August 6, 20205 yr Does anyone know what Deep Purple's last album 'Infinite' opened with here in 2017? Did 9.3k first week to open at #6. You can find sales figures for the top 10 albums of each week going back to 2014 (and top 3 / top 5 back to 2005) archived in this thread. Glass Animals' last album only got to #23, I expect they should be able to go at least top 10 if not top 5 this time around but not expecting them to be a #1 contender. What do I know tho ~

What do I know tho ~ Ah cheers for that - Glass Animals is a tough one given it's been 4 years since their last album (especially with Fontaines showing how much they've grown in 1 )
August 6, 20205 yr Author i wouldn't have expected Glass Animals to reach the top 10 personally, but idk how much a fanbase they have here so
August 6, 20205 yr haven't seen any buzz about Glass Animals especially compared to Fontaines, which everyone was talking about (in indie circles)
August 6, 20205 yr GA do get significantly more streams and have more followers than Fontaines, but their fanbase is also more international. I'd be surprised if they don't at least go top 10 here

I'd be surprised if they don't at least go top 10 here And they're also doing Ally Pally (same as Fontaines and bigger than most singles chart acts like Mabel!) on their next tour, that's 10,400 people
August 6, 20205 yr Glass Animals' streams obviously aren't as UK based as Fontaines D.C. but worth noting they did have a single make the top 200 on UK Spotify a few weeks ago. (Only for one day and very low down but that is not nothing as an achievement for an 'indie' act (although the song is pretty much a straight up pop song lol)).
August 6, 20205 yr In Ireland this week the battle for the #1 is between Fontaines and the aptly named The Coronas  The Coronas seem to be another 'Picture This' as in they sell out arenas there but haven't made a dent here!
August 6, 20205 yr The Coronas have been very successful in Ireland for years now but never made any impact in the UK, The Coronas have some really great music and i would prefer them to Picture House who i also like.
August 6, 20205 yr I discovered The Coronas a few months ago and love what I've heard! Surprised I hadn't heard of them before though seeing as they've been around 17 years.
August 6, 20205 yr Any info on 'Take You Dancing' position? Still Top 50, has climbed a bit since Monday
August 6, 20205 yr Yeh the Coronas have been around for years, remember seeing them when I was at uni about 15 years ago!
August 6, 20205 yr It helps that Fontaines have the 6 Music crowd behind them who are generally keen on purchasing physicals - Glass Animals’ have a younger and more streaming-oriented fanbase by large.
August 6, 20205 yr Does 'Hallucinate' have any hope of making the top 40 this week? No. big sales gap of 1.7k
