Lottie smashed it this week! She's carrying this season for me tbh! Shame to see Mark go but it was the right decision, having a cake described as 'inedible' is not the best note to finish off on! Hopefully we shouldn't hear anymore of this 'straight white male favouritism' considering we have 3 men and 3 women left.

Poor Mark, I wanted him and Lottie together to the end. His showstopper did massively let him down, but it did feel obvious he was going over Hermine after the ''consistent'' comments earlier in the episode. Also, Laura's showstopper looked so cute.

Yeah after Lottie Mark had easily been my favourite but can't argue with that decision, there was no one who was particularly bad this week and as he hadn't really excelled in either of the first two it was unfortunately an obvious choice

 

So pleased Lottie won the star baker, that jiggly toadstool :wub:

Okay, good good! We are getting there. Hermine deserves a win at some point. Hopefully they have a patisserie week soon and she's still there by then.

I have to say the standard this year is absolutely appalling. I’ve just caught up on the last few weeks and am left thinking is this seriously the best bakers they could find in the UK? Not one person could make a solid brownie? So poor this year.

I suppose so, but the themes are WAY better. Japanese week followed by 80s week is amazing, those Kawaii cakes looked amazing :wub: I sensed Lottie would do quite well with this and I'm really pleased as she's easily my favourite. Not certain she'll make the final as she's a bit more risk-taking, but I'm hopeful she can make the quarters/semis. I stanned Mark L's accent so I guess that's a shame, but can't argue with the decision.

Its surely got to be between Hermine and Peter for the win?! Definitely the most consistent bakers there.

Poor Laura she’s a real fave of mine and I always just root for her every week. So glad she managed to just about stay again!

I think Lottie is brilliant and I'm devastated she's out, Laura very lucky to be staying in. Probably the right decision, one messed up the showstopper because of a daft mistake, the other messed up making a fundamental error and neither particularly excelled on the first day.

Sad to see Lottie go but, OTOH, I got Laura in the sweepstake. Dave had a shaky week but saved himself with the showstopper. Assuming he is back on form in the next two weeks, I'd go for Dave, Peter and Hermine in the final.

Ugh. I was really... REALLY hoping we were finally losing David this week :cry: Gutted that Lottie is gone </3 But her time wa scoming up, despite winning star baker just last week.

 

YESSSS for Hermine though :heart: I genuinely think she's gonna be final 3 at least. Extremely consistent, but seems to be improving a little more and more each time.

Sorry for jinxing it guys, there goes my favourite :'( The showstopper was pretty terrible judgement though which was such a shame as she always had such unique ideas, she was just slightly too erratic. I guess the most memorable bakers always are.

 

Hermine would definitely be my hope to win now, really glad she finally got star baker. Peter is obviously competent and is my sweepstake and all, but I just can't warm to him, idk how wide eyed and innocent can you be?!

Finally someone else! He really annoys me and I can’t put my finger on it at all. Like really annoys :’)

I'm also joining the 'Peter is Meh' club. Competent is indeed a good word to describe him but I can't see anything past that. :/

Peter annoys me too, he's just, and this sounds silly to say, TOO competent? Idk who to describe why he annoys me other than the fact he's got big energy of that one kid at school who would remind the supply teacher that you have an alphabetical seating plan and homework is due today.

 

Dave is similarly boring but he can stay in so we have something to look at :whistle: Hermine is the only one left with a likeable personality tbh, Marc has NONE whatsoever, and Laura just annoys me because she's all "LOL look at me I'm so relatable, I don't even know what I'm doing LOL".

 

Lottie was my fave after Sura went :( I guess it was kinda payback for her being super lucky that Sura messed up the other week as that was the only reason she stayed then, but Laura not even turning the ice cream maker on.... I guess both Lottie and Laura's showstoppers were kind of unforgivable at this stage, Laura not putting the chill setting on was a really dumb mistake for top 6 of Bake Off, but then Lottie failed spectacularly too and it was really a coin toss if we're being fair and leaving aside Lottie being a more entertaining personality.

 

I know it's not Big Brother but it's really hard when you see most of the bakers and just think meh, you've still got to want to watch them as it's them who make the show.

I wouldn't really mind is Marc won, he's likeable enough. But other than that Laura started to annoy me a tiny bit with her f*** ups. Dave is just an 'UGH' personified. I mean he's so totally BLAND. And the bakes from him I remember were all style over substance judging by the comments.

 

Hermine is a runaway winner for me. Extremely consistent in bakes + very very likeable and funny.
