You make a good point and part of this is down to City. They were good with Mancini and Pellegrini but Pep has taken them to another level in terms of consistency. While I get he is a total chequebook manager, I also do feel he's a really good manager too. The potential good thing is the next generation of managers all seem to be club legends who get the manager gigs and there doesn't seem to be the same level of managerial coaches coming through. City are obviously financially dodgy and despite the pandemic it looks like they're still going to have a budget of £200m net in the summer  Annoying really when they can sign Messi, pay him a pittance and then when he eventually moves to New York Red Bull FC he will be on $2m per week for a couple of years.

Yeah it's since Pep became their manager that their win percentages have increased massively, last season they dropped off a lot and Liverpool had to be relentless from the get go as the assumption was that City would win every week but that didn't turn out to be the case. I wonder if it's only when he leaves that there will be a change to this pattern.

I had a look at the stats for the 2015/16 Premier League season and the longest winning streak was only 6 matches and it was by Tottenham who didn't even finish in the top 2! Leicester's longest winning run was 5 matches and they won only 23 matches in total. How I wish something like that could happen again!

It always depends on the manager so if the wrong manager comes in post-Pep they won’t be as consistent!

City only need 21 points to win the title now!

Good to see Sheffield hang on for the win yesterday to pick up some much-needed points. Felt like it was just a matter of time until Villa pulled out an equaliser with all the attempts they were getting but somehow they didn't manage it!
Liverpool awful tonight same performance and nothing changes so is it any wonder they continue to lose. They put up half a press instead of all pressing and Thiago and Gini shouldn’t be playing the same midfield as they get into the same positions, god I can’t wait to see Fabinho in the middle of the park again.

I thought Klopp got it wrong but what can you do? Taking Salah off was madness. Even Nat Phillips is injured now, Fab was leggy today and it showed. Mane is so off the boil right now, can't believe he didn't go down under the Christiensen challenge in the first half  Roll on the end of this season as by God it's depressing and shite

Apparently the first time in Liverpools entire history that they have lost 5 consecutive home games.

Bring back Roy Hodgson

Kabak out injured now, as well as Nat Phillips  I've genuinely never ever seen anything like this.

Who the hell is their fitness coach?

I prefer to think someone has a Liverpool FC voodoo doll this season!

My team for next game

Allison

Milner Phillips Kabak Robbo

Fabinho Gini

Kieta

Salah Jota Mane

I would have Milner ahead of Gini but has to go at full back with Trent being off it!

Trent has been one of our best players for a while now! The problem with Trent is he (like all our CBs) are left exposed in the system 1 on 1, which is a by product of playing Fabinho and Henderson in CB.

Yeh I agree he’s exposed by the midfield but he hasn’t been at it this session imo, you don’t need midfield support to be strong and more aggressive when defending and he lets players waltz by him every game, nearly wish he would put a strong tackle in even if he got a yellow for it. The whole team isn’t pressing well this year maybe as a result of the way they play under Jurgen and are wrecked.

He was off the boil for a bit, cumilating in the Southampton game, but he's had covid and been injured. Certainly think he's been one of our better performers over this horrible period. We don't press as much currently which I think is a calculated way of conserving energy, but also because you can just by-pass the press by playing a long ball and then as long as you have an average player with pace you can beat our CBs which would have trouble getting in to a Championship team

This made me laugh as well and the Lacazette scream-o-meter thing that they did also

Looks like Jurgen has listened to my need to freshen but maybe not in the positions I placed the players lol, Wouldbt have thrown the young centre back Williams straight in but Kabak still unfit.
