So far, no solo Spice has touched this run of singles. No Mel C or Emma or Geri even got close to such a 4 in a row punch of high quality singles. Emma was probably the closest with the Free Me era singles but that's it.

Um, where's Today in that run?

You included the first two! That automatically declares your claim NULL & VOID.

Tell Me & Feels So Good though

Look At Me - Mi Chico Latino - Lift Me Up - Bag It Up >>>>> (mostly because of Word Up, the other three are bloody brilliant. Want U Back is absolutely one of the best solo Spice songs and Mel B is just incredibly underrated).

Sorry mate but Mi Chico Latino, Lift Me Up and Bag it Up are embarassments that would be best kept hidden in a Pop Music Vault for all posteriority. They are all cringe, terrible songs. Look At Me is only ok as well...

Word Up in Top10 Spice Girls music and no-one will ever convince me otherwise!

I felt that this discussion would benefit from its own thread rather than being in Victoria's general topic (even though it was initially about Victoria!) so let's continue here.

Melanie C's recent run of Who I Am - Blame It on Me - In and Out of Love is already one of the best/most consistent in quality runs for a solo Spice Girl, imo!

Cannot be matched I mean such a range of musical styles and all consistently good songs, utterly brilliant!

Agree that Mel has made quite a run. I would add High Heels to that too.

The only salvageable song out of the lot :teresa:

If we're looking at career runs, I think it has to be Mel C for me practically by default. The sheer amount of material she's released means she just has the most bops total. My assessment is she has about a dozen truly great singles...another dozen that are "fine"...and about a dozen duds (I know the math doesn't quite add up there...but...y'know...estimates...).

I'll say this. Out of the material each of the girls had for their respective albums, I think Geri did the best job of choosing her singles. That doesn't necessarily mean I think she had the best songs of the bunch. I think she just did the best job of picking her releases.

You may or may not like the Schizophonic material (personally, I do) but she did pick the four songs with the biggest hit potential. I think she did the same for her second album. Scream and Calling may have fallen a bit below her expectations, but I think they did better than anything else available to her would have. Yes, she blundered by not releasing Love Never Loved Me...but...it *was* up for consideration and the fans voted for Desire to be released over it. So. It was the fan pick. I can't totally blame her for listening.

The others I just think made some really bad choices. With Mel B, I adore her first four singles...but Lullaby was a song with no audience and was lucky to get the chart placing it did (I still find it hilarious she performed it at GAY). Today was lucky to make the Top 200 of any chart. Emma was too content to release snoozer cover songs when she had incomparably stronger original material in her arsenal. Likewise, I don't think Victoria's absolute best stuff got the single treatment (...or release at all, really...)

I've never liked When You're Gone and while Going Down is good in the context of the album, I don't think it's a good single imho.

You’re perfectly entitled to you (wrong) opinion :coffee: :kink:

Sorry but We’re not gonna sleep tonight is tripe.

Sure but it's still better than 80% of Mel C's singles :arrr:
