A lot of the predictions will have come from that huge Plug reaction so you'd have to ban that too!

 

8th is brilliant, and a few 18s is all that separates a winner from a low top ten sometimes, so it's always difficult to predict an odds-on winner when the competition is so high and close.

Well done Bhangra!! An EXCELLENT winner. Sad for FARC for another bridesmaid position with another amazing entry tho but that Top 5 was fantastic!

 

Thank you SO much for another Top 10 - gobsmacked at that? Apart from Patrick who had been championing Miss Alewya the whole time the hype was non-existent so I was expecting much lower, like 30th!! So glad it connected.

...is dance not a viable genre in BJSC anymore? I mean it’s great to see Danæviia do decently and Mosquetania didn’t come bottom 10 which I’m ecstatic about but it seems like dance entries don’t do that well anymore :(

Yeah as I expected the late scoreboard hiccoughing was just votes getting out of sync rather than any actual errors, my final numbers matched exactly for everyone! Scoreboard audit complete xx (one of the tiebreaks was originally wrong for #transparency but Lew fixed it in his post now xo)

 

Massive congrats to David for finally notching up a win outside of the early installment weirdness phase of the contest! 'Die Young' is not exactly one of my favourite winners ever (it was midtable for me) but it's far from the worst, a perfectly solid pop song, certainly a lot better than 'A Grade Playa' was sorry Rich! :kink:

 

A few pretty big curveballs in the top 10 there for me, I knew Summericia would do at least decently well as these kind of entries always do but 3rd is definitely exceeding my expectations, kind of a shame it couldn't pull out a win as it initially looked like it might but still a great result! I also don't think I'd have called Bøtanikkä or Republic of Adonia doing so well (the 2nd biggest hit ever for the latter I think? :o) Yayyy for Skall making it into the single digits for the first time in way too long and Aeroche getting a top 10 too. Good results in the top 20 for Terra Avium and Utopia and although it deserved much better I am satisfied enough that Jadakissnia's late surge was enough for them to avoid the bottom 5! How in the world did Aelandor come last though?? :'( Kinda wishing I'd given that 18 now just so it would be over 100 points, wouldn't have affected the position of either of my top 2.

 

Also... Fatoumata getting that big last second surge with solid points from all of the last 3 voters! I was a bit gutted at seeing Lotunia originally on the non-voters list for multiple reasons, of course would hate to see Lotunia being banned but also if there was one country that I had solidly in mind to have been a big fan of 'Nterini' it was definitely them, thank the lord they did vote and I was right as I managed to avoid being 18-less in the final vote, muchas gracias Noche :cheer: I would of course have returned high points this time if not for SULLI being done so dirty in the semi... Thanks muchly to Beav and dhwe for the other late points, pulling out that surge from the bottom 10 to lower midtable obscurity and most importantly managing to defeat FSR Rontvia in the African songs battle that only I was caring about :cheer: xx

 

Thank you for the beautiful hosting as ever Leww! Now... possibly a Bhangra hosted contest? Would technically not be the first but the contest was almost entirely unrecognisable to what it is now the last time Bhangra hosted so would be for all intents and purposes essentially a new host! :lol:

Wow I really did THAT on semi two. A shame it didn't completely translate to the main contest.

Ah I had Cor Lupus just outside my semi votes in 11th place, but actually voted them up in the final to give them precisely the number of points (4) for them to beat me in a tie. To add insult to injury, it bumped Numyania's excellent entry just outside my final points (1 point in the semi final) when I would've liked to have point swapped from their very generous 18 to me. So I really cucked myself.

 

BUT the winner is good, reaching my commiserations, and I'm thrilled for the Summericia medal position as well as my 9th! Thanks for hosting fab Lew!!

I also find that enormous gap between winning entries to be very satisfying.

Congratulations David on winning with a good song that got 2 points from me and thanks to Leww for another great hosting job.

 

36th was a bit disappointing after a good start but I'm always just glad to be in the final. Thanks to all who gave points to Rolloland.
